This place is a gem in the rough of Mexican restaurants dotting the Hudson Valley. I have extremely high expectations when it comes to Mexican food. It is one of the top world cuisines with so much diversity and flavor yet so many Mexican establishments dumb their food down to cater to an Americanized version of what the cuisine should be. I have traveled Mexico extensively and have eaten in many different regions. When I say El Ray is Legit, trust me. The Food is authentic Oaxacan. The Esquite is the real deal. The Tlayudas remind me of the first time I had stumbled upon this dish in a market outside of Puebla. The Tacos take me back to those late night Taco stands that dot Mexico. If you are looking for real Mexican...

The young girl last time and the young man at the counter today were extremely pleasant. Customer service was great as soon as I walked in the door. I wasn’t looking at a menu the first time I ordered, and the girl pretty much walked me through it as I placed a large order. The guy today didn’t want to smash all the containers in one bag, so he used two while stacking everything in them nice and neat. The nachos were amazing, the fried quesadillas were perfect. The chorizo tacos are my favorite. If you love authentic Mexican food go check this place out. You won’t be...
