UPDATED REVIEW: The owner (Rob) reached out to talk and so we did have a long, good and insightful conversation. Details aside, I feel that he is doing everything he can to make sure the establishment continues to be the place that I've loved going to for years, and went above and beyond to ensure that my opinions and feelings were heard. I plan to continue shopping at East End and am happy that he was so open and genuine with me.
I dont get to go too often. I live about an hour and 20 mins away, sometimes much longer with traffic. I still make it there about once a month, maybe twice if im lucky. I always choose East End over any other gaming store due to the sense of community and homely/friendly feel there. I look forward to continue being a small part of that community. Thank you Rob, and those at East End that dont just sell the stuff, but go above to make everyone feel at home also! (Back to 5 stars for everything, hope never to change again)
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I had a 5 star on this for years, but last visit was not the vibe. If the owner wants to contact me for discussion, im opened. I just want to say that your place runs on customer relations, as much as any other and I didnt feel that this time around with a particular worker. Would love to keep going and buying from you guys if all is worked out though. Will edit pending on that. (Changed from 5 star, to 2...
Read moreI've been here and to other game stores around the island and honestly this is my favorite one to go to. They have a giant selection from games to consoles to cards and even more, it's astounding. Not only do they deal in modern games and releases, but they have games for every console imaginable. I also think it's really cool that they have an area to play card games like MTG or Pokemon.
Also, I've never once been let down here. While I can't speak to card prices, video game prices here are great and reasonable, just slightly above or at general market value which is also quite astounding frankly. Employees are all super friendly and nice, they're always willing to help out and answer any questions, and you can really tell they build a genuine relationship with their customers and care about what they do. A small thing I greatly appreciate as a collector is they'll let you take games out of the protective plastic and inspect the discs and contents which really helps to make sure I'm totally happy with my purchase.
As an adult, entering into here always fills me with the sense of awe and amazement I would get going into GameStop as a little kid, it's just that awesome and even a bit nostalgic. If you enjoy card games or video games, whether they be old or new, I cannot recommend East End...
Read moreOk, so I started going to East End Gaming when they opened the first store out in Eastport and loved it (it was 5 min from my house!), so I was upset when they moved to only 1 store, but after coming in a bunch I see why it was the right move. The store is huge, has incredible inventory whenever I’m there, and they always host card tournaments if that’s you’re thing. I can always find that one GameCube game or Wii game or SNES game I need when I’m there. Again, the store is big, clean, and I always feel welcome. That ties into the staff, who are all super friendly. They are the type of guys who will sit and chat with you about the latest in gaming. It’s clear they’re gamers too and are obviously the perfect fit for a gaming store (yes I’ve been to game stores where the staff can just be down right mean and not want to talk and this is NOT the case here). I’ve popped in a few times to the store in the last few months and love it! Definitely happy to call this my local retro gaming store from now on. Prices are decent, staff is super friendly, and the selection is always great (some pretty rare stuff too at times). If you’re in the area and want to see a good game store, come here! They’ll treat you great, and I’m always excited when I get to go back and...
