I came in with a vacuum that didn't work from a big box retailer. I had called before I came in and he mentioned over the phone - something about possibly trading it in. The next day, I bring it in and he remembers me which I am happy about. I was hopeful because I spent $260 on the one I was bringing in. He ends up saying he would have to service it and it would cost him $115 which is fair enough. I wouldn't want to do that because I just paid $260 for this one less than 3 months ago. At this point, I left like leaving. He kept reiterating he was in the business to not only sell vacuums, but he had a strong interest in them. He then went on about the Sebo vacuum and how great it is for the price of $550 which is crazy. He kept saying it would be a great investment, but I'm a broke college student and honestly, I felt bad that I couldn't afford it. I actually left feeling bad about not being able to drop $550 on a vacuum which I don't think he meant to do. I remember this place being a good place for vacuums and the people working here are nice. I noted most of the vacuums are too expensive and I wouldn't have stepped foot in there if I knew the vacuums are more expensive. I was surprised with the experience I had. People have to make a living and I respect that. I feel with certain customers you should read the room. I personally, felt horrible about myself for hoping for the trade in thing and then being told to buy a vacuum I couldn't afford. Greg is exceptionally knowledgeable about vacuums and has a true passion for the industry. Ran diagnostics on my 35+ year old Hoover and it was time to replace it. After doing some online research, combined with him spending time educating me and trying out the various display models, I bought a new Miele Complete C3 Homecare Plus vacuum. This was a huge purchase and appreciate that Greg is low key and no pressure as it gave me the space to make such a big decision, and I do not regret it. He is extremely pleasant to all (even those who aren’t pleasant to him, as I observed while I was waiting my turn) and offers helpful advice. He was able to take a quick look at my vacuum, knew immediately what the problem was and fixed it on the spot. He then suggested that I replace the belt on my power attachment which would improve performance. He did that at the customer counter while I waited.
