Tops Friendly Markets — Local services in Town of Milo

Manager working this night in the purple shirt was super unfriendly and cut me off as I walked in. Same manager was “helping” my cashier when the meat would not scan. The cashier was asking if it would still take off the bonus card discount at the end. Manager kept answering that the meat department sets the price. Which did not answer the question. Checked my receipt- it did not take off the discount. I went back in and the cashier repeated what she was told. Had my husband look at the price tag and we both know they’re not wrong. They charged me the full amount as if I didn’t have a bonus card. Groceries are expensive right now, this money makes a difference. I didn’t went to be perceived as a Karen but now I am thinking about how I wished I went back in and grabbed the manager. I just felt embarrassed when I thought I was being stupid and not understanding the price. Photo has it second...

So many reasons this place is the anti-Wegmans. *Produce is always within a few days of turning, but they sell it anyways. I bought a bag of apples 2 days ago and they're already turning - which is why I'm finally writing this. *Deli sandwiches are also horrible, with minimal ingredients, and also close to expiration - check the pack dates and you'll see. *Staff is mostly rude and mismanaged - they smoke right outside the main entrance and are often seen bs'ing and standing around. *The store layout is awful - often times I am stuck behind some old lady because the isles are so narrow and cluttered. *The parking lot is terribly designed out ,with traffic jams due to pedestrians crossing to get to the only smoke bombed entrance of this dump.

In conclusion this place sucks, and I hate having to go there...

Ran into an issue when I tried to cash a $100 check that was issued by a local Veterans organization. It was hand signed so they wouldn't cash it, okay that's how it is. I wasn't happy and asked how I could cash a check of my own that was hand written to pay for my groceries but I couldn't use the check I tried cashing. I wasn't rude, I did say that maybe I should find a different store. I was then told that she thought that was a good idea. I have done a tremendous amount of business in this store for years. Now that I know I'm not welcome at Tops anymore, I will take my business elsewhere....
