What started as a quick stop for coffee and a pastry during our vacation quickly became our go-to breakfast spot for the entire trip. My wife and I were completely charmed.
The inside is warm and inviting, with table seating and a few cozy wing-back armchairs nestled in the back. The decor—a mix of exposed brick, herringbone subway tile, and unique brass fixtures—gives off a soft glow that makes the space incredibly welcoming.
For breakfast, we ordered coffee, a smoked salmon bagel, and a pain au chocolat—I was lucky enough to snag the last one! The coffee, a Costa Rican light roast prepared as a perfect pour-over, was exceptional. It had absolutely no bitterness, instead offering warm, complex notes of berry, honey, and dark chocolate.
The pain au chocolat was baked to perfection: its glass-shatteringly crisp outer shell gave way to soft, pillowy layers of pastry wrapped around a generous chocolate center.
The smoked salmon bagel was another highlight. A generous portion of salty lox was perfectly balanced by fresh dill and tangy pickled red onions, all served on a warm bagel with a healthy schmear of cream cheese.
I can't recommend this place enough. If you're in the area, make it a point to stop by—you won't be...
Read moreI went here for breakfast earlier today and did not get what I was expecting. I didn't know much about this place just that they were mainly coffee, so when I went here to get breakfast I didn't have high expectations. Got in and it didn't take long to place an order, sit down, and get our drinks. I got just a normal iced tea and my friend got the green pomegranate iced tea. We sat down for a little bit and chatted in the cozy, modern cafe. It didn't take long at all for our food to be brought to our table and the food looked good. The classic waffle is just one waffle cut into fourths, so for 7 dollars a piece you might be able to get more somewhere else. When I first tried the food I was very impressed and shocked that a small cafe could make good food aswell. Aside from the price, which ended up being about $22 for 2 teas and 2 waffles, it was a great experience and I will more than likely return. Most definitely recommend,...
Read moreI enjoyed a nice quiet morning by the window with a book, a cortado, and a chocolate croissant. In the area for travel and wanted a relaxing morning before heading back to Central Jersey. I spent over 2 hours here, and I have to say every single interaction I watched was wholesome and heartwarming. The coffee was delicious, the croissant was delicious, I even took an iced matcha to go! And to top it off, a flower farmer set up a little stand with bouquets for sale right inside. I couldn't help myself, I bought myself flowers! This trip has been amazing and I can't wait to visit Penn Yan again so I can come back to this absolute gem of a coffee shop. Thank you to everyone there, you were...
