Silver Sun Games — Local services in Town of Montgomery

Hobby shops are hit and miss with me because I often feel shunned out or gatekeeped by the regulars. This was not the case at Silver Sun Games. I was warmly greeted and offered help by the gentleman behind the counter who offered me some sound advice on helping a friend of mine's 8 year old son get into Magic the Gathering. He was very attentive to me while also simultaneously hosting a tournament. The other patrons there ranged from all ages and all seemed happy and having a blast. I highly recommend this shop if you are looking for a fun and safe place to bring your children, as well as if you are an adult/teen just looking for a place to hang out and play games. This is THE CARD SHOP. Chris is an amazing person. He knows that running a shop is not primarily focused on tons of transactions. Chris spends time making sure you feel comfortable there. He gets to know his customers and makes sure everyone is included and participating. The shop itself is clean, has a lot of space, and has a lot of different products for all ages. The best game store in the world!! Constantly hosting events, and always beginner friendly. Great selection of both board games, and TCG products inside a clean, well maintained space. Also my favorite place to cast obliterate

Edit: 3 years later, everything still stands. I have now been to at least 2 dozen other games stores spanning 3 states and nowhere has had a more genuine and honest store owner. Also the local magic community here is extremely accepting and welcoming. It is a safe space...
