I have to write this review in hopes that it helps the owners. I am in Walden a few times a year and it’s been more often lately because of family issues. The first time I came was in August and we sat at the bar. The Bartender working a that afternoon was fantastic to say the absolute least. I don’t recall her name but she was newer and she was tall with long blonde hair. She made us feel so welcome and carried conversation and seemed like she genuinely cared. When I sit at a bar I want conversation. Same with my husband and my friends that usually come with us. Not only did she give us great conversation but she also was on top of doing everything else, getting food, tending to other customers, answering the phone etc. there was about 5 other guys at the bar and they seemed like they were having a great time too. Fast forward to the beginning of January. I believe it was a Sunday we came in because football was on….the bartender seemed more intoxicated than anyone at the bar. Then we came in this past Friday and I did not feel like I was wanted at the bar. The one girl with long dark hair did not speak or say a word, she seemed miserable and I was not the only one at the bar thinking that. The couple next to us were saying the same thing. I feel bad for the bartender that was working with her. She seemed frustrated but was trying to make the best of the situation she was put in and trying to do so with a smile on her face. In my opinion if it’s a Friday or Saturday night you should have bartenders that are going to talk to you, smile and that are outgoing. I hope this helps this bar in some way because the food was great and the reason I’ve been coming back is because of the first bartender who served us that day. I hope we see her again soon so I can...
Read moreMy Husband and I went to Copperfields last night for dinner as my birthday pick; I was looking for beer and a burger & this was the place for it! A friend recommended several spots but once I saw beer cheese on Copperfields menu, I knew I needed to try it, and it was absolutely delicious! We started off with some apps; fried calamari was cooked perfectly, smelt incredible & was sweet & crunchy, we also got the soft baked pretzel that came with beer cheese sauce on the side, oh my gosh it was amazing! Best pretzel ever hands down. We both ordered a burger, medium rare cooked spot on; of course I had the beer cheese burger with bacon and following the trend of amazing. Best waffle fries around, sweet potato fries did not disappoint. We finished the night off with a Chocolate Mousse bomb, and wow that name was fitting, it was so rich and fluffy, chocolate mousse layered on top of a brownie and covered up by chocolate, drizzled with chocolate & whipped cream, just fabulous. We devoured our appetizers, polished off a beer each, both took half our entrees home and split dessert. Our server was wonderful, very kind & personable, she was all for singing happy birthday to me with my husband & even gave me a side of beer cheese to bring home for my left overs. Overall wonderful experience, definitely a spot to go to for anyone; the next table over had children & they all sounded satisfied over all as well - selling point for me because we have 3 kids we’ll be coming back with. I can’t say anything bad. For a Friday night, packed with people, food and service...
Read moreCopperfields Kildare Pub has such wonderful reviews, so I decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt despite it being a HUGE LUNCH RUSH! I overheard that there was a high school graduation in the back. Let me tell you, we spent more time waiting for our food and drinks than actually enjoying them!
First off, major props to the bartender – she was doing her absolute BEST under ridiculous circumstances! She was juggling everything: waiting tables, bartending, running tickets to the kitchen (no POS system? Seriously, tickets in 2024???), and handling takeout orders. This woman was a superhero, but even she couldn’t save our disastrous experience.
The vibe was pure chaos. We sat there forever, watching our hunger turn into hangry frustration. When the food finally arrived, it was just okay, but that might have been because our expectations had climbed to Everest-level heights during the endless wait.
A comped meal or at least a drink on the house would have been a nice gesture, especially after we mentioned it was our first time there. Instead, we left feeling disappointed and ripped off.
Stepping into Copperfield's is supposed to be like stepping into a lively pub where fun, friends, and good food come alive. Unfortunately, our visit was more like stepping into a circus of confusion and inefficiency.
With 40 craft beer draft lines and a promising menu, Copperfield's should be a great spot, but my experience was far from it. Unless they sort out their service issues, I’m not sure I’ll be back...
