The charm of the historic building might be enough to invite one in. But once there, the three galleries and the hallways filled with art are what keeps the interest. The rotating art exhibits are varied, though most pay tribute to the founding principles inspired by the Hudson River School. The gallery/school is a hive of activity. In addition to the formal exhibits there are on-site classes, the comings and goings of the plein air artists, and weekly senior drop-in painting sessions. Fresh floral arrangements (provided by a group of dedicated master gardeners,) are scattered throughout the exhibiting space and are an added feast for the eyes. WRS boasts some of the most well-attended, lively, and welcoming artists' receptions. Generally on Saturday afternoons and offering wine and tasty tid-bits, these gatherings are always free.
