On May 15, I went to my local Kohls in Newburgh, NY to buy a new suit jacket and pants for a funeral.  I arrived there just before 8:30pm and had the worst shopping experience of my life in that store. Just as I start shopping in the Men’s department, a work crew comes in and starts ripping and peeling the merchandising wallpaper off the walls. That was annoying and noisy but not a terrible inconvenience.  I found a few items that I wanted to try on, so I went into the fitting room in the Men’s department to find that the work crew was using that fitting room as a staging area.  Their tools littered the floor, merchandising signs were stacked in the doorway, and their crews’ case of water was in the middle of the area in front of the dressing rooms.  Aside from the obvious construction debris, the dressing rooms themselves were filthy - clothes strewn all over, dirt and dust all over the floor. It was obvious that no one had cleaned in there in quite a while. It was getting late so I tried on a few items and came out of the fitting room to show my wife, now wearing dress shoes that I had brought along with me. I slipped on the way out because the work crew had now taped plastic to rug since I had gone in to the dressing room.  There were Kohl’s shopping carts in the isles being used to carry the work crew's tools and now tools on the floor in the aisle. The last staw was when the work crew started using a spray can.  I don't know what kind of remover/solvent was in that can but the fumes were giving me a headache.  At that point I just took what I had to checkout and asked to speak to a manager.  I explained what was going on to the person on duty - Amy - and I also asked her for Kohl's corporate number. Amy did go to the men’s department to verify what I was saying and did in fact find the spray can that the workers were using.  I took a few pictures before I left so that you can see I’m not exaggerating. I was shopping in the store starting at 8:30pm and checked out at 9:30pm - those are normal business hours - the store does not close until 10pm.  If Kohl's is going to be remodeling - they should do it after hours.  Otherwise, put up signs, rope off the area, etc…  If I would have known that situation was going on in the men's department I would have gone to Macy’s instead. I called Kohl's corporate number on May 17 to inform them of the problem.  The representative that I spoke with said that the manager of that store needed to be re-trained if they let something like that go on during business hours.  She gave me a case number and assured me that the district manager would contact me directly to discuss my experience. Well, it been almost a month since my call to corporate and I've never been contacted by anyone from Kohl's. The impression that I’m left with is that Kohls just wants to make those in-store sales and doesn’t care at all about their customers. My wife an I will never shop at the Newburgh, NY store again and I suggest that you avoid it as well.

The pickup process leaves a lot to be desired, I've had stuff shipped many times, put the pickup department is pretty lousy. I'm not saying it's on the employees, but the fact that you're on the returns line to do an online pickup order, and then told to go meet in a section of the store up near the front.. how is that said person going to know who you are. The fact that when the pick up area gets too full they turn the ones not fitting into curbside orders... Unbeknownst to the customer till they walk in.

This is store is filled with everything you need. I love the men’s selection. It’s always so organized with many types of clothing. This one off the coolest stores I have visited in my travels.

I had a terrible experience at Kohl's, a store where I have been shopping for over twenty years and spending a significant amount of money. I made a purchase on March 9th worth $177, but when I went to return it, they could only find one item on the receipt. This happened because when I made the purchase at the self-checkout, I needed assistance from an employee as the machine was not working properly. Unfortunately, the employee forgot to send me a receipt, but I didn't think it would be a problem since I had never encountered any issues before when using my Kohl's card.

To resolve the issue, I asked to speak with a supervisor and Faustina was assigned to help me. However, she informed me that there was no guarantee she could locate the missing items. I asked several questions and suggested calling Kohl's charge to obtain the receipt, but I was told it probably wouldn't work. At this point, Craig, another supervisor, was called over, but after checking in the back, he also concluded that there was nothing they could do.

Feeling frustrated, I asked for another manager as Pam needed to leave, and Craig also left. I decided to call Kohl's card customer service to explain the situation, but it was a challenging and lengthy conversation. Eventually, the Kohl's charge representative confirmed that the purchase had been made. Then, I came up with the idea of looking up the UPC from the boots. The representative called over another manager named Gisela, who was able to retrieve all the necessary information and process the refund. It took three hours of my time in the store to finally resolve the issue. It was truly a...

Went into kohl's spent 3 hrs looking around for the perfect outfit for my brother's wedding. As I go to the changing rooms to try on my choices I was then told the fitting rooms were closed. I am so very disappointed as a worker seen me and heard me talking about trying things on and couldn't even tell me "sorry the fitting rooms are closed". Instead I walk over and she says with a nasty attitude "the fitting rooms aren't open". I was so upset. There was a tiny sign by the floor that said they were closed. How could a person see such a small sign? They need to advertise that dressing rooms are closed. They have a sign on the door saying you must wear a mask to enter but no sign letting the public know that the fitting rooms are closed. So that's why I rated the store a 1 star for today's visit. Not to mention that they had 6 registers open and I know line was a tad long but they kept it moving. A woman was done w a customer took forever to clean her counter and then continued to speak with her co worker about what she was doing for dinner that night and not caring that their was 6 people behind me in line and I was up next. A young girl who got done w her customer in a quick manner cleaned her station and took me before that other other woman took another customer. Where is the poliet hard working people? Apparently its the younger generation whom was polite and quicker. We know you are old but come on!! You get paid to ring people up not to tall about dinner for your boyfriend. Come on.... I have not gone to this newburgh store in years and now I remember why I choose Middletown over...
