Vent Fitness — Local services in Town of Niskayuna

Actually kinda disappointed in the place. Signed up a couple of months ago, I was expecting it to be higher standards than other gyms because of the fact that it's VENT FITNESS. Secondly the fact that they are more expensive than other gyms. Just to get started at this gym, you are looking at 70 bucks, then 3 months after you sign up, u get charged 49 bucks on top of your monthly fee, the 49 bucks is a annual fee, which was never told to you when you sign up btw, its written in small font all the way on the bottom, i found that out when i went into the gym and asked about the 49 bucks she said that goes to this gym for updates. Then, on my card, the monthly fee and that annual fee says vent fitness guilderland, so i asked why it said Guilderland, and she said you set up as Guilderland to be your facility, which i do not under stand because i signed up in the Niskayuna location, not sure how i CHOSE Guilderland. So my annual fee and monthly fee go to a different location than the gym i go to makes a lot of sense. Lastly, most of the equipment in this facility is deffinetly older, a lot of wear and tare on the equipment. The end of 1 of the barbell literally pinched me because the nut was loose on it, and i literally started bleeding. Many other machines are also loose and not good. The bathroom literally never have paper towels in them, when the do, they give you like 3 inches of paper towel. None of the wait scales work. The bathroom is always dirty and smelly. Some sinks dont work , and some stalls dont work. Just sucks. I should have stuck with planet fitness, cheaper and cleaner. But i am in a 1 year contract, ...

Vent Fitness Nisky is the best. Your experience starts off fantastic right when you walk in the door, the front desk staff is very friendly and is always putting a smile on my face! My favorite are the small group training sessions (NXT sessions) because they can only have up to 5 people and they are taught by the personal trainers there. They are fun, yet they always make sure you are learning something. It is always a hard workout but they make it a great experience. I would never switch to another gym after being introduced to these NXT classes. The trainers are always super enthusiastic and whether you are having a one on one training session or you are in one of the NXT sessions, they make your workout something you want to do, not something you have to do! I never have to worry about going on a dirty machine either, everything is always extremely clean which makes it that much easier to have a great workout! Overly packed, Ran down equipment, they do not accept cash to purchase a water or protein shake at front desk. I had a membership for a total of one week, I got the Most expensive membership so I can bring a guest and utilize the boxing room. After one session of training with my guest, I was told from the assistant manager that we cannot “train each other” So pretty much you’re not allowed to do partner workouts. As somebody who has trained pretty much every day for the past 10 years and been to every gym in this area.
