Horrible experience! I went to purchase a small lightbulb for my fridge and was told it was $9 and paid for it. I was shocked at the price because normally light bulbs aren't that price. 2 months hasn't even passed and the lightbulb burnt out, so I took it back to them and asked them if I could get a new one. A worker there comes and tells me they had given me the wrong bulb for my fridge and the bulb I need is $2. THEY had given me the wrong bulb which is maybe why the bulb died so fast. It's not about the money, but the simple fact they couldn't accommodate me because of THEIR mistake is poor costumer service. Very disappointed and will not be going back to them and recommend no one else does.

As a response to your message. Im not quite sure what receipt you're talking about because I never showed you any receipt during our conversation. Why would I keep a receipt thats several months old? I've attached a picture of my statement in which shows I paid $9. like I said before. It's really disappointing to see that you couldn't even accommodate me a $2 bulb from your store because of a mistake you guys made. I've been going to your store for several years and have never had any problems until now....

This place has really gone downhill. Spent nearly 3k on a green egg set up with them coming out of the pandemic in ‘21 and was told by Adam, the owner, that I’d have coupons to redeem/slash store credit. No mention was made of how they’d arrive or them expiring. Time passed before I had a chance to go back and he showed no interest at all in honoring what he’d told me and wasn’t apologetic in the least.

Got home and asked my Mom if she’d had any issues with me and she told me a story about a recent visit where she needed help identifying a lightbulb that needed replacing. She enlisted the of the sales woman, who asked her “What do I look like, a psychic?”

Alpers is the best hardware store in Port Washington, hands down. They are very friendly and the family that runs the store grew up here. Hardware is their life!
