AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! Delivery ordering beware. I was a loyal Aiko customer. My family has been going to this sushi restaurant for 3 years about 3-4 times a month. Last night I made a delivery order online and everything went downhill from there. The order said it would be 45 minutes. An hour later no food, so I called restaurant and she explained they were busy and it would be another 15 minutes. First problem, food was 30 minutes late. When the food finally arrived it was MISSING half my order that I already paid for. I immediately called the restaurant. At first the woman was nice and said she would speak to delivery man and call me back. 10 minutes later no call. I called them back and she said the delivery was made and all the food was there. I told her I was missing 3 pieces of tuna sushi, and 6 pieces of salmon sushi. She told me I was lying that the food was delivered. She also told me I many people "like you" don't know what sushi is and she started explaining what it would look like. I told her I know what sushi is, I have been eating it since I was 10 years old, I order there at least 3-4 a month (same order) and I lived in Japan. She kept insisting there was nothing she could do, no refund of my money, or send me the food I was missing and HUNG UP ON ME. It was only when I called back and said this is fraud and I am calling my credit card company that she decided to deal with me but I had to allow her delivery person to come back to my house, into my home and show him I did not have the food. This is absurd. I should let a stranger (delivery man) into my house to prove I was missing food that THEY DID NOT DELIVER. I agreed to it because the food was NOT THERE. I waited an additional 15 minutes WITHOUT eating my food (had some hot stuff that was now cold) and I called restaurant again to ask when the delivery guy would be back to me house to check out the food. She gave me all kinds of attitude and said he had other deliveries and my issue was not a priority, the issue being I couldn't eat my food until he came back. She than HUNG UP ON ME A SECOND TIME. Finally he arrived, saw the food was missing and gave me back the money for the food missing. The entire experience was TERRIBLE and I will never go back there again. I was missing $50 worth of food and they called me a LIAR, HUNG UP, insisted a strange man come into my house to verify I was missing the food when it was THEIR MISTAKE. She even said they were so busy....ummm do you think maybe since you are so busy you made the mistake. I also have never had some tell me "You don't know what sushi is so I am sure the food is there and you just done realize." Avoid, avoid, avoid. There are many other delicious sushi places in the area. I would skip this one that treats loyal...
Read moreI recently moved from Manhattan to Port Washington and thought the food was great. Normally, I am not a fan of menus that offer so many options, but everything my wife and I tried was good. (Would suggest to the owners to consolidate the special and house rolls a little.)
We had: -Kobe Meatballs -Tuna Cracker
-Eel Cucumber Handroll -Tempura Shrimp Roll -Dee Roll -Port Washington Roll.
We liked the Port Washington Roll better than the Dee Roll, but both were great.
Service was good and on a Friday night it was busy but we got a table right away. Looks nicer on the inside than the outside might suggest.
Will make this my new go-to...
Read moreDo not order takeout. Food is cold, soggy, tasteless. They must have a different chef for takeout only. Food stnks. Eating in restaurant is pretty consistent to go ... never again. They lie on the phone and just say yes...yes...singsong. Took longer than one hour an order for one. Beware. If you order takeout, the cc goes thru, the tip goes thru and then it says delivery in one hour! you can't go back. I threw away $25.27. I'm an in town person and ill be spreading the word....no more from this place. Go to...
