Staples — Local services in Town of North Hempstead

I called ahead of time because I needed a shipping box in a certain size. They told me they had plenty of them. I left work to go get the Shipping box and I got there and the manager said that we have plenty but they’re in the back in the storage room and there’s stuff in front of the door so I can’t get them to you I said, but I called. Do you know who I spoke to And he said nope without any further explanation there were only three people working in the store so if it Wasn’t him it was one of the other two people. I personally would have gathered my other two employees and found out who said something was available when it wasn’t. I arrived at the store at approximately 4pm. I was there to pick up a order that was shipped to the store. There was one employee at the check out counter. There were 2 people in front of me. The first person was called to the counter. That person had a problem buying something and after 10 minutes of no movement another employee finally came to the counter to process customers. I finally was called to the counter to accept my package. The person at the counter couldn't find the order in the computer to release the package. Finally another employee was called to the counter to help him release the package. The entire wait time was close to 20 minutes to get my order! The first person called to the counter was still there when I finally escaped! You need more employees....

Upon my visit several days before the Christmas holiday I visisted STAPLES on Jericho Turnpike in Bellerose and literally there were only two (2) employees running the entire store. NO Manager, no floor staff only 2 very welcoming, hard working women were running the entire store! The line for Amazon and print services was ridiculous! The one woman was excellent but how much can you do when you're answering questions, dealing with frustrated customers as they have been waiting for service forever. The one cashier came over to support but she too was limited as she was the only other staff in the store.

It was so unfair to these two woman who clearly tried to keep it together due to the poor understaffing and non-management in the store.
