Been using Polar for a decade and on my 11th device. Six of my 11 devices have died before the warranty period expired. All of my devices have been cared for exactly as recommended. This last time, their CSR told me I needed to pay to send it back, and they didn't answer my questions directly the first time around. As a long time customer, it looks to me like Polar doesn't care about my customer service experience, because they use canned responses that don't relate to my specific requests. This results in wasted time and increased turn around time for CSR inquiries. Do yourself a favor and go with Wahoo or Garmin. Product quality is higher and customer service...
