I've never been here until during this pandemic. Therefore i was unaware alex was doing only curb side pick up. So i go up to the door she greets me very nicely and when i said i didnt have an order i was looking for a few things she explained she was doing curbside pick up and how to order in the future. However she still let me tell her what i was looking for and went and got every ingredient even things i spotted that i love (like ramune) and i was like "oh you have those too!" Lol 😂. She got everything very quickly and efficiently was very very kind. Also shes very knowledgeable and answers many questions! Highly recommend her store! We have visited purple rice for years and absolutely love Alex. She's amazing. We appreciate the variety and service she provides. We always buy her seaweed salad, kimchi, and noodle salad if any are still available. This last visit she and my husband talked shop about growing ginger and she helped him pick out a good root. Previously I have asked her about bamboo and advice on growing it. She candidly admitted that this isn't where she shines, but offered what she could. The stacking dumpling steamer we bought from her 6 years ago is still just as functional as the day we bought it, making it a great investment. We use it for soa poa as well as dumplings. Many people don't realize that you can buy fresh made lunch here and not just groceries. Alex makes a tasty Asian inspired lunch each day, Monday through Friday. Each day only one type of dish is available. For example, on Thursdays she always makes sushi which always sells out fast. This visit, sweet and sour soup was available. The daily dish is generally available starting at noon or shortly after and is available until it sells out. Sometimes seaweed salad or kimchi is also available in the cooler.
