I joined Fit City back in October, the 3rd to be specific. My experience at first was great. Tara was the one who got me all set up, gave me a tour, the usual when joining a gym. I found myself going in everyday at odd hours but my key card worked with no problems and Tara was almost always there. After the 1st week the treadmills became an issue for me. Only one of the three of them worked, on one: the belt skipped making anyone using it at risk of falling especially if going fast, and the other one: had the front hood off so it clearly was out of commission. One morning I went in around 5:45am and the only operating treadmill available was being used by another member, and this was not the 1st time so I was more than irritated by this point. She does have other cardio machines, but the bikes were hard to adjust I was either way too close or way too far, and I hate ellipticals, so that wasn't an option for me. Since I only used the treadmills and the weights I found it to be a waste of my time to continue my membership. I did however consider that it was newly opened so they'd be going through some kinks so I should be patient. Close to the end of the month I had some family issues and unfortunately ended up having to cancel my membership anyway. I've been in constant contact with Tara once I noticed the money was withdrawn from my account (Nov.3rd). Its Dec. 16th and I still not have received my refund. I've been calling and calling and nothing. Every time I talk to Tara its the same response, "it takes time, its out of my hands, it could be 2-3 weeks in business days." So since Tara is now no longer taking my calls and hasn't gotten back to me, I'm writing this review. The amount of money may be small to her but even if it was a dollar and you give your word as a business woman that you will refund that amount, then that's what should be done. Tara has made it very clear that she'll love to take your money but when she has to give it back its done (or should I say not done) with the same enthusiasm. As I haven't been back in there since the end of Oct. I'm not sure if things with machines have gotten better but I wouldn't recommend anyway join this gym. When working in business one has to be conscious of how they treat others, and my problem may be little to you but its not little to me. If I could give a 0 star...
Read moreIf you are looking for a really solid fitness community, FitCity is the place! There is something for everyone here. They have a large weight room, a turf room, and separate spaces for cardio and group classes. (I'd recommend one of Tara's spin classes hands down.) Everyone makes you feel right at home. If you need help figuring out a machine or if you have any other questions, there is always someone willing to help you out. The trainers here are also great. Suzie is phenomenal and has really helped me along on working with me to achieve my personal goals. I also can't forget to mention Sonja at the front desk! She's incredible and always acknowledges you when you walk in the doors. If you're on the fence about joining FitCity, just take the leap....
