I placed an order earlier today through Lucoli’s website (which used a third-party app called Slice). About 15 minutes later, I received an email telling me that the order had been canceled. I called the restaurant to ask them what was going on, and the response I received was essentially “That’s the app’s fault, not ours. We aren’t responsible if the app doesn’t work. Would you like to order over the phone?”
….seriously bro?
Call me a male Karen all you want, but I think it’s perfectly reasonable to assume that a restaurant in late 2024 would be a little more competent at managing their website and ensuring that all online orders go through to the staff. Or, at the very least, they could simply acknowledge that they are at least somewhat responsible for stuff like an online order being randomly cancelled on a customer. The person I spoke to hardly even apologized for what happened.
I love Lucoli’s. I love their personal pizzas. I really do. But I’m sorry, I need to leave this one-star review so that you will at least be aware of this problem and learn to be a bit more competent with maintaining your online...
Read moreMy grandfather took me to this place a couple years ago and he has absolutely converted me. It’s very much not the Long Island pizza I’m used to but there is something about Nobile’s (the owner) creation that keeps me wanting to come back. The crust is a bit more airy than maybe a traditional pizza but as someone who usually loves the cheese of a pizza most but can be hit or miss on the pizza sauce at certain pizzerias, the sauce here is by far the best I’ve ever had and this guy is making his own cheese in house and even provided us samples. From what I learned, Nobile started this business as an oven maker who provides his services to other pizzerias, and uses this shop as somewhat of a proof of concept of how good his ovens are, and he is certainly right. If you’re ever in the mood for something outside your usual, basic pizza, try Lucoli’s for a unique but also delicious twist on the classic NY pizza. Just a delicious, less greasy and all around less...
Read moreTheir pizza oven is a work of art. Had their gluten free Margherita, cooked to perfection with the wood-fire. It was so incredibly good. Thin crust, crispy edges but pliable under the cheese and sauce. And it wasn’t tasteless filler dough like most GF flours tend to be, whatever they used had a complex flavor (I think there was buckwheat in it, something with a richer taste than your standard rice flour/potato starch mix). The sauce was perfect too, and the cheese was so fresh, and the right amount, no skimping like some places that will give you three small blobs of mozz on an entire pizza. I live about 50 min away and am already plotting to go back. Next time will need to get a regular crust for my...
