We had over 2000 square feet of white oak flooring installed in our entire house. Although there were many problems from the beginning, we understand that flooring is a living thing, and we accepted the issues. We would never use this business again!

The finish in the kitchen and part of the dining has unacceptable issues. This has been a problem since day one. There is dark staining coming through the wood on the seams. The finish is uneven and the floor stains when anything touches it. It just seems like the floor has no protection at all. The rest of the house does not have this issue.

We have sent Mike pictures, asked him to come... which he has done... but 2.5 years later he has done nothing to resolve the problem. We have called and called. In our last conversation, we told him his behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional 2.5 years was too long to wait! He told me “We are too far out of the way and inconvenient...that I would just have to wait a little longer. Funny, he didn't feel that when he took the job.

Sadly, he has mistaken our kindness and patience for weakness. Therefore, we are left with little choice but to let future customers know that this business DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK and begin a social media campaign to get this word out.

What a wonderful experience we had with Northern Dutchess Hardwood. From the start, Mike was responsive to all my emails and calls. He provided all the information I needed, and expertly guided us to make quality decisions on our flooring. We wound up buying three types of flooring, including hardwood and carpeting. Mike provided advice and opinions when asked, but there was never a hint of pressure to make a specific decision. He also helped us work within our budget, and suggested ways to make our costs lower.

In terms of the work, everything was completed in a timely manner, work started when promised, and the people working on the house were efficient and respectful of those of us in the house. Vinnie, who installed or hardwood, was great to work with. He arrived exactly on time, and seemingly never stopped until the entire job was completed.

I reached out to Northern Duchess Hardwoods shortly before I closed on a home where we wanted to replace 75% of the floor with hardwoods. It was daunting, as our goal was to have the work done before we moved in, but I was 800 miles away in South Carolina. Mike went above and beyond to make our plans worked. He arranged to visit the home with our real estate agent so he could take measurements. He worked with us over the phone and via email to get us the hardwoods that we wanted. Even though we had a pretty short window for when the work could be done, it was all completed within about a week and a half, allowing us to move in when we had planned to do so.
