Our Bookshop — Local services in Town of Saugerties

Came here for the first time, it’s clean, very well organized and it seems like patrons help to keep it that way by putting books back exactly where they found them OR the store owner is REALLY on top of it. I wasn’t able to find any of the books I was looking for, but they are really niche. However, this is the first used bookstore that has a proper automotive section. Most used book stores think locomotive is automotive, so if they have an automotive section at all, it’s s all locomotive and one Harley Davison book lol. So I will come here again in the future to look for my niche books and some of their other sections. My only negative is that the man at the register seemed like he wanted everyone to just go away and leave him alone lol he wasn’t rude, just very much over everyone lol. I don’t like to...

Very interesting and whimsical shop- highly highly organized with lots of very niche sections. mostly low prices with some sticker shock ones when you find a rare gem. It feels like you’re interrupting the owner to check out, especially when he’s in the kitchen in the back, so that can be a little uncomfortable, but it also happens a lot in these special little stores in small towns so it feels like kind of part of the experience 🤷‍♀️ Just something to expect if you’re visiting. He’s not really a people person, so don’t expect to have a conversation or anything and you should put all items...

No visit to saugerties was complete without a stop here and at inquiring minds. I felt an unparalleled sense of giddy anticipation as I opened the door - wondering what treasures I would find. It was inevitable to wonder what it would be like to live amongst the books… with only the bare minimum space left for human necessities.
