ALDI — Local services in Town of Tonawanda

I was at this Alidi yesterday evening shopping for an Instacart order. I had to use the self checkout because the registers were closed but that’s no issue, I don’t mind. What I do mind is the employee hawking me down the entire time I’m checking out, for no reason. The worker (I didn’t see her name, tag, but she was an older women) was literally watching me so intensely the whole time I was checking out. And then she walked over to me while I was still in the middle of scanning and bagging my items, and rudely said to me “ you know you need to pay for those bags right?”. I said “yes I was going to after I finished scanning the all of the items” and she just said “okay” and still continued to eye me down until I left the store. She made me so uncomfortable and embarrassed that I accidentally ended up paying for the Instacart order with my personal card, because I was rushing to get away from that lady. I have no idea why she was targeting me and why she felt the audacity to come up to me and tell me I needed to scan my bags and eye me down the whole time. I clearly was doing an Instacart order and was scanning and bagging every single item in my cart. I will never shop at this Alidi again, I don’t take kindly to being treated so poorly for absolutely no...

I'm normally not a shopper here, I'm fairly busy, order from another grocery store and have my items delivered. However, I've been hearing so many people talk about the prices lately, so I thought I'd swing in. This was a much different experience from what I had many years ago at an alternate location that prevented me from returning until now. I must've walked in at the perfect time...all of the produce was getting restocked and was as fresher than I've seen at most larger stores. I expected to see a ton of off-brand products, but that wasn't the case at all. The meat selection was amazing, and the prices on everything were so much better than I ever expected. The store was clean, the staff was super friendly, checkout was quick, and I bought more than I originally intended (that's what happens when you like what you see!!!). I would definitely recommend heading over to ALDI, whether you need a few things or a whole cart full. I typically like this Aldi location. Today, not as much. The store just looked messy. The staff was restocking, but there were items out of stock. It's Friday towards the end of the day and a lot of people shopping for dinner so I would have expected it to be better prepared.

The main issue today is shoppers not maintaining social distancing and literally walking right up next to you as you shop. It not only happened to me but I watched it happen to others.

Also, what is the point of wearing a mask if you are only covering your mouth and not your nose. It kind of defeats the purpose.

The store has proper sanitation stations and they go the extra step to clean the carts. This gets 5 stars in my book.

Unfortunately the Cashier looked worn out, so maybe it was a long shift for her. I go out of my way to be friendly and her response was polite, but there was definitely no interest in adding to the customer experience.

I'll go back again and try a different day and time.

Just wasn't impressed...
