Kingpin Comics & Gaming — Local services in Town of Tonawanda

Finally a spacious, family-friendly comic and gaming store! They have a Lego/kid room, arcade game, and an entire kids' comics wall. The store is spread out with open displays and comic racks in the front half, and gaming tables with the lego room towards the back.

During my first visit to Kingpin, Justin, the owner, was teaching a kid how to play Pokemon. The other employee working was friendly and helpful. My second visit, I signed up for a pull list and when I went in on Wednesday, Justin remembered my name and which comic I was l looking for.

I'm excited to bring my young nephew into Kingpin for his first trip to a comic book store. I hope someday I can get him into a TCG so we can play there together too.

I’ve been going to the same comic book store for over a decade now but they have started opening and closing at irregular hours and after the third trip out there only to see the door locked, I shot them a message about updating their hours and got a clapback reply. So I had to go find a new spot. THIS is it. All new releases are 25% off. I didn’t know this and was prepared to drop $80 bucks on books and was super excited when they rang everything up. They have a great selection. New releases and the most recent back issue are completely separate from everything else. They seem to actually be open when they say they are going to be open.

I’m really excited to have a local comic shop I get genuinely excited...

Update.....It's been over two years since I last reviewed this establishment. The King of Comics in Buffalo is Kingpin Comics. There is no other comparison. It's not a just comic store but an institution for the community. It's a place to belong to and feel welcomed. My pull list is here and it's easy to use with the online app. Magic products are always at MSRP and not raised to extort customers. The ownership and clientele are colorful, friendly, and always up for comic shop talk. A wonderful place to bring the little ones who are beginning to read.
