Made my last visit there today. Have been going there on and off for years. Same story, different day. Food is decent, better than average, and a good deli sandwich is always a nice lunch option. The owner is a complete A-hole. Too many rules. It' s like an episode of Seinfeld, he's the sandwich nazi. He hates dedit or credit cards...cash is king, don't just show up and order, you need to call first....don't call then show up early, or late, or god help you ask to modify the order when you get there. Hell once I even got yelled at because while waiting for my order, he acknowledged a customer that came in behind me. I had ended my conversion with him, so he went in back and yelled out a question from behind the counter. The guy behind me and I both assumed he was talking to him, so he answered which led to a mix up of who got which order. I thought the owner was going to burst a blood vessel dealing with the stress. He screamed at me for starting to walk out with the order he gave me...that was several month ago, so we stopped going. Had a quick drop off today at the shipping store, so thought...should we try the deli?? I knew the rules, I took my chances. You could see the stress the moment we tried to place a counter order. He was angry and barked he was super busy, and wouldn't get to it for at least 20 minutes. We would have waited, but didn't want to deal with the attitude, and the cold stares each time we made eye contact, so left. He yelled as we exited "fast food is next door at Mighty Taco". I stopped and asked why he was so nasty to people. His answer explained why he has been there for 10 years and can't hire any help. He is just an angry elf...Life is too short...good luck to him, but I'll find a different place to get a...
Read moreFor the first time ever NO LONGER going to support this local business: Usually a very nice experience with no issues, today I stopped by just to place a sub order and the man behind the counter who is always there very rudely stated "You come in here all the time like this and I am not subway, this is not subway" I was unaware I had to call ahead first to make a sub order and he kept saying behind his counter side remarks of "this is a deli" "not subway" so I politely said if your busy I can go somewhere else and he came around the corner very smugly saying "have a nice day". I haven't eaten here in about 4-5 months so I don't know where he got the impression of me going there all the time and ordering came from. If people are expected to call ahead first if should be made known instead of saying "Fast take out service" you could say "Call ahead only" this would clear up anymore future confusion. I will NOT be supporting this business EVER again due to feeling extremely disrespected when I was nothing but polite and always have been in past encounters. My partner and I went for lunch and when we wanted to order he informed us that there was a 20 minute wait time to which we both agreed to wait. My partner placed his order and then when I was placing mine he said “I can’t place your guys’ orders goodbye”. I understand being busy but if you’re gonna call yourself a quality eatery maybe you should consider hiring more people to help you if you can’t handle the clientele on your own. If asking for you not to place tomato or mayo on my sandwich was to difficult for you to handle maybe you should consider closing your restaurant. And the fact that your response to me saying no mayo was “what does that mean,” I think your time would be better spent back in elementary school. Your attitude towards us was disgusting. And there was no excuse for you not to continue with our order. It’s also interesting that my partner (who just happens to be white) was able to place his order with no problem, but when it was my turn to order and the owner saw me (I’m Latino) he very quickly refused both of us service at the restaurant.
