ALDI — Local services in Town of Union

I’ve been a loyal shopper at Aldi for a long time, but today was incredibly disappointing. I came in to buy some chicken wings and fries and, since I had cash, I waited on the regular checkout line. The cashier—a young woman with a colorful bag and ponytail—greeted the older gentleman before me warmly and rang him up quickly. But when it was my turn, her entire demeanor changed. She aggressively took my items out of the box, slammed the box into my cart, and threw my groceries back in.

I was genuinely having a good day until that moment. I usually speak with the store manager when I visit—he’s always been respectful and kind—but this kind of behavior from staff is unacceptable. I find Aldi to be a good place to shop, and they seem to want to sell a quality product. But now I'm very impressed: lately at this Aldi's the parking lot lights have not been on at night. The store said they had complained to the landlord but it was still a problem so I decided to send an email to Aldi corporate. 11 minutes after I hit send I got a phone call from Aldi corporate asking what the problem was and thanking me for letting them know. I was astounded. I think Most corporations wouldn't even respond to the email or if they did it it would be an email days later. This was a personal phone call and after only 11 minutes. $50 at most grocery stores will get you eggs, bread, milk, and a few other items. At Aldi $50 will get you a ham, five turkeys, 12 pounds of chocolate, a sofa, a basketball, nine gallons of milk, two chickens, fourteen bushels of fruits and vegetables, and a weird little European car.

Okay, I'm maybe exaggerating slightly. Also I don't actually know what a bushel is. But Aldi is cheap, has a great selection, and high quality products. My wife has become a sort of Aldi cultist and even belongs to Aldi groups on Facebook and Reddit. It's a very good store and you'd be remiss not...
