I was really looking forward to having my makeup professionally done for my wedding, especially after hearing positive things about Ulta and their makeup artists. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations.
I had scheduled makeup appointments for myself and two other ladies, with the understanding that each application would take about an hour. However, the process took nearly 1 hour and 45 minutes for me alone, which caused a significant delay in my schedule. As a result, I missed my hair appointment, and the wedding ceremony itself had to be pushed back by 45 minutes. This was a stressful and disappointing start to what was meant to be a very special day.
The quality of the makeup was not what I anticipated, especially given the price. I found myself having to redo my makeup entirely, as well as that of the two other ladies with me. In all honesty, I could have achieved better results on my own at home.
Additionally, we were charged $32 extra per person for false lashes, which we were told would require more work and last several days. Unfortunately, the lashes were uneven and poorly applied, and they began falling off before the end of the day.
I do want to mention that I also had a facial done with the same artist prior to the wedding, and she did a wonderful job with that. I was genuinely happy with the results of the facial, which makes the experience with the makeup all the more disappointing.
In total, we paid $344 for makeup services that ultimately did not meet even basic expectations. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was truly disappointing—especially given the significance of the occasion. I hope Ulta will take this feedback seriously and consider reviewing both the service provided and the...
Read moreI went to the location after years of not being able to and had a sour experience. As soon as I came, in a taller associate with blonde hair and leather pants proceeded to trail right behind me. I wasn’t able to get her name because she kept trying to move from my eyesight when I would turn around to look for help. Instead of asking if I needed anything, she pretended to move things around the shelves in the next aisle over and continued to do whenever I moved. Weird right? So I finally find what I’m looking for and I see the same associate walk to another associate and mention shoplifting and turn towards me as I couldn’t see or hear them. The poc associate then proceeds to circle me in the aisle 4 times, never once asking if I needed help, but staring to see what I’m doing. Weird again, but this time I’m very uncomfortable because she is blatantly making it obvious I’m a problem in the store. So finally I head to the register and am trying to tell the associate what is going on and I feel bad because she clearly is uncomfortable with the conversation so I just ask for a customer service number and instead she just keeps pressing a button on the counter and trying to hurry me up out the store. I changed the subject to asking where a brand that they carry was and she acted as if I meant at a Sephora location, Sephora doesn’t carry The Body Shop, I’ve always bought that brand at ulta. She finishes the transaction and I ask for the customer service number again, she tells me she has to get someone else to do it and has another associate write it down and runs away. I turn to see if I see the other two associates who followed me around and they aren’t even on the floor. This whole experience was incredibly disheartening and I definitely was...
Read moreI usually love Ulta, but our experience (me and my roommate) was not that great. The store was very understaffed, with one person at the register, one person doing hair, and one person doing makeup. There was no one on the floor to help us with our questions for over a half hour. We wandered the store, picking up our products, until my roommate got some assistance. The team member who assisted us with finding the correct foundation and blush stick was very nice, helpful and patient. We both learned what we need for our types of faces (a tinted moisturizer versus full foundation and powder, a good color blush stick). We both browsed and filled our baskets with products from multiple sections. We went to the register (we paid together), and our total was around $350. I asked if there were any free samples, and was told no. It isn't often they don't have free samples. We were then informed that we would not be receiving a free gift (there's always a free gift when you spend that much), and when we asked how the company could rectify this issue, the team member basically shrugged her shoulders and told us we were SOL. We have been shopping at Ulta for years, are rewards members, and always recommend them to people looking for quality products, but after this experience, I think I will be sticking to shopping for these products online, elsewhere. Really...
