I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at NYBP, and it truly exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The décor struck a perfect balance between modern chic and classic comfort, with soft lighting and tasteful artwork that created a cozy yet vibrant dining space. It’s the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy a meal, whether you’re out with friends, on a date, or even just treating yourself to a solo outing.
My experience was made even better by my server, Donnie, who went above and beyond to ensure that my meal was enjoyable. Right from the start, he greeted me with a genuine smile and took the time to explain the menu, highlighting some of his personal favorites. His enthusiasm for the food was infectious, and it was clear he had a deep knowledge of the dishes being offered. Donnie's attentiveness was perfect—he struck just the right balance between being present when I needed him and allowing me to enjoy my meal at my own pace.
Now, let’s get to the star of the show: the Carnegie sandwich. This dish was nothing short of fantastic. From the first bite, I was blown away by the rich, savory flavors and the perfect texture. The layers of perfectly seasoned Turkey were generous and succulent, complemented by fresh toppings that added a delightful crunch. The bread was toasted to golden perfection, providing just the right amount of crunch while remaining soft enough to soak up all the delicious juices. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors that showcased the high quality of the ingredients used. It’s no wonder that this sandwich has become a signature item on their menu!
As I savored my meal, I had the wonderful opportunity to chat with the managers—CJ, Meg, and Joey. Their passion for NYBP was palpable, and they took the time to share insights about their culinary philosophy and the inspiration behind the menu. They spoke about their commitment to using locally sourced ingredients, which not only supports the community but also ensures the freshest flavors in every dish. It was inspiring to hear how dedicated they are to crafting a menu that reflects the best of New York’s culinary scene, while also creating a welcoming environment for guests.
The service throughout my meal was impeccable. Donnie checked in regularly to ensure everything was to my liking, and his recommendations for sides and drinks were spot on. I ended up trying a couple of their house-made sides, which were equally impressive—crispy, seasoned fries and a refreshing coleslaw that perfectly complemented the richness of the sandwich. Every aspect of the meal was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, enhancing the overall experience.
The ambiance at NYBP further elevated my dining experience. Soft music played in the background, contributing to the relaxed vibe while still allowing for easy conversation. I noticed a nice mix of patrons—from families to couples to groups of friends—creating a lively but comfortable environment. It’s the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time, enjoying good food and great company.
In summary, my time at NYBP was nothing short of delightful. The combination of fantastic food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere made it a memorable experience that I can’t wait to repeat. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by—especially for the Carnegie sandwich! I left feeling satisfied and excited to return. Thank you, Donnie, CJ, Meg, and Joey, for making my visit so enjoyable...
Read moreLoved it! My wife and I went for dinner on 1/3/20 after getting a gift card for Christmas. This was our first time though we had passed it plenty and knew it was open for a while. The space was appropriately lit with winter time decorations. The ambient noise level was exactly what we had expected. There was no loud music or overbearing noise from the bar areas. We were both totally impressed with the upstairs "beer hall" style area. The long tables with chairs, walk up bar concept, and being able to order from the full menu makes it somewhere you could bring a group. After all of that it was time for dinner. My wife had the lobster grilled cheese sandwich and did not regret it. The amount of lobster in this sandwich was unreal and had me second guessing my dinner choice of the chicken sandwich. But the chicken was done just right and the sauce had great flavor so no regrets there. Most important to the whole experience was the service. We had the pleasure of meeting Donnie and getting the best service we've had in a while. He came to the table with huge, positive energy and extended his hand to each of us as he introduced himself. He made sure we had everything we wanted and left no question unanswered. Throughout the dining experience he was back at the table inquiring about the food and making sure we had all that we needed. And not in that annoying "caught ya with your mouth full so you can't answer" kind of way. At the end of the meal I was so impressed that I had to tell someone. When I called the manager over he smiled and informed me that shortly Donnie would no longer be serving there. That he had been promoted to GM!!! Needless to say this Victor location is harnessing the talent, energy, and positive attitude of it's staff to make it a better experience for all. While we're disappointed we won't make it back before Donnie takes his new post, we look forward to the staff embracing his qualities and giving other people reason to write a great review. (P.S. To the Lockport crew: Donnie 1, Andy 0....
Read moreCame here on a Saturday night to have some drinks/ food and also watch the Boston/ Toronto hockey game. The hostess had mentioned that it would be at least a 30 min wait which was not a big deal but that we could also be seated at the bar. We wanted a seat in the dining room so she had said that we could get started at the bar and that she would come grab us when our table was ready. The bartender Jared was really good and very quick with our drinks. Surprisingly, a table had opened up within 10 mins of us sitting down and the hostess had said that we can move over to a booth. We already made our food order so we just closed our tab at the bar. We moved over with our drinks and Jared was nice enough to bring over our food when it was ready. The nachos were quite good with a decent portion. My husband got a beer and I got the flight of margaritas which was also very good. I was personally a fan of the pomegranate flavoured margarita. The unfortunate part that sort of soured our night was the waitress, Hannah who came over to serve us upon moving to the dining room. She was pleasant at first but after we mentioned that we had already made our order at the bar, her demeanour changed and asked us why we didn’t just want to stay at the bar. We had told her that we still would like to look at the menu to possibly order more but she didn’t seem very pleased with this. She was very attentive to her other patrons and constantly asked them how they were/ if everything was ok but made no effort to attend to us. She had only come over once to take away our menus and say that the kitchen would be closing soon, despite seating another table and allowing others to order (It was 9 pm). We were so turned off that we ended up heading back to our hotel to watch the game. It’s such a shame that making tips is the only motivation for providing good customer...
