Last week, my boyfriend and I came to this Kay Jewelers location to browse styles and get ballpark pricing. We were interested in financing options and requested to have our credit checked to see how much we would be approved for, just to get an idea of what was most affordable for us. We were not ready to make a purchase that day. Unbeknownst to us, and without our verbal or written consent, we were both signed up for Kay Jewelers credit cards. The employee who assisted us did not inform us of this, and we did not realize they had opened accounts for us until we received emails from our bank and the credit bureau days later, followed by an email from Kay Jewelers advising us our credit cards were on the way. There was no misunderstanding, they straight up did not inform us. When I confronted the employee on the phone she was very dismissive and told me to âjust cancel it.â Iâm very aware that is an option, but the point is I was signed up without my knowledge or consent. After doing some research, Iâve come to find that Kay Jewelers and their sister stores have been scamming many others across the country in this same way - past employees have even shared their experiences explaining that they have a quota of a certain # of accounts they are expected to open each day. I have reported these sneaky and deceptive business practices to the BBB & the NYS Attorney General's office, and will be avoiding this company & their sister stores...
Read moreI've spent hundreds of dollars in this specific location!!! Was not impressed I dropped off 5 rings to be repaired, fixed, and resized. Some that came back they never cleaned or did anything too. Ended up getting 3 out of the 5 done. Which was okay but nothing spectacular... When I called to approve the rings to be sent out got no answer 3 days in a row within business hours. Not happy with the time it took, the description as to what was done was never re-stated so just keep my fingers crossed, and once I asked to have some rings cleaned was like it wasn't part of their job. Was by far from what I've had in the past!!! If you're not spending thousands to make commission off of than you're disregarded. I'll go somewhere else...
Read moreI entered the Webster store last week and wasnât greeted or acknowledged so I left after staying about 5 minutes. I went back two days ago and only 2 customers were in the store and I still wasnât greeted or acknowledged. I asked to have my ring checked and cleaned. An associate begrudgingly checked the prongs but did not clean it . Iâm disappointed as well that I was told I need to make an âappointmentâ for a ring cleaning in the future and the associate made me feel like my presence was an annoyance and a burden. I will not go to this store again, even though it is close to my home. The staff needs training in etiquette and welcoming customer service. ...
