American Eagle — Local services in Town of Woodbury

This was specifically in AERIE: Clean setting, as expected. Workers are an absolute joke. I came here to find a sweater that I saw online. I walked in, greeted the workers and proceeded to ask where I could find the sweater, as I was on my break. I didn’t feel like looking forever, plus it’s their job to direct customers. Not sure who it was by name, but it was a caucasian girl who brought me to the pile of sweaters. I’m aware that they were neatly folded, and she asked me what size I think I am…rather than moving out of my way and allowing me to get a feel of the sweaters myself. This annoyed me because I’ve worked in retail before. I know how to find and grab my size without messing up a pile of clothes. So, since she literally stood before me and didn’t allow me to have my space, I told her I want to try a small and medium, she grabbed both for me, and I asked for the changing room.

I spent maybe 2 minutes in there, decided on the small and not even 1 minute later she asks me for the size I didn’t want. What kills me is…what if I still wanted to take both…I feel like I can never get a decent shopping experience in here. Either it’s dead with no customers and the workers are annoying and rude, or it’s too packed with customers and the workers are slow and rude. Never getting my $ again. They also have terrible communication...

I have been a customer for at least 10 years. I have shopped in this particular store countless times. Yesterday I went in quick to grab a few pairs of pants. I know my size and exactly where they are. SHARON, an employee working, had a disgusting attitude. She was so rude, fresh and mean for no reason. My size was the first one, I was not trying on and buying immediately. I did not make a mess and she scolded me as if I was a 5yr old child for picking up a pair of pants..? Even after I apologized (when I shouldn’t have) assuming maybe she was just having a bad day. She continued to speak down to me with disgust and raising her voice. It seemed she just wanted to be mean to someone and I was it. Beyond Unprofessional and very ODD behavior. Especially when working in customer service. Thankfully the upper management was great and apologetic. She was just as mortified as I was. I would be so embarrassed if a customer was treated that way by my staff. I can only imagine her attitude when a disgruntled customer comes and makes an actual mess. Yikes. Ticking time bomb. The rest of the staff seemed great. Polite and friendly. It’s sad that one bad employee can set the tone for the entire store. The two ladies next to me also heard and saw how she was speaking and felt uncomfortable. Hoping I won’t have to deal...

Huge AE store with items available for excellent sale price. Great place to shop for casual clothes like T-shirts, shorts, cargos. They have all sizes available for most items. They also have deodorant, perfumes, underwear, vest, and small jewelry.

Checkout is little slow and annoying as they ask for email instead of phone number. One associate charged me full price for an item cause she didn’t know how to apply the sale price for an exchange. I came back to store to fully return the item and buy it again with discount price. But staff are friendly...
