I don't usually leave reviews but felt compelled to leave one for South Philly Cheesesteaks. This place is located inside the Woodbury Commons outlet so you can expect the prices to be a bit higher than normal but the way they cheat you is real underhanded.
I ordered a large sandwich because they didn't have the regular size. (Looking at some of the previous reviews from weeks/months ago in which they also didn't have regular; this seems to be an ongoing thing so customers are forced to go with the large). I add on the fries and drink as shown on their menu for $3.85, basically to make it a combo meal. The total was around $19 which seemed a bit high, but whatever, this was at the outlets so higher prices are expected.
It wasn't till I finished eating and looked at the receipt to notice an additional charge of $1.85. I go back and ask what it's for and the cashier's response was "we don't have any small cups". So it seems they charged me for a drink regardless even though I added it to the combo deal because the price between a small and large drink surely can't be $1.85 (they don't have the drink prices listed on the menu).
And not once did the cashier mention the upcharge while I was ordering/paying. And I also saw her do this to a bunch of other unaware customers who also went with the combo deal. So shady.
So in summary, pretty underhanded in tacking on an additional upcharge to every customer (without telling us so) because supposedly they didn't have small cups.
Oh, and the "large" drink that I got was a regular 16 oz cup which isn't really a large? Food was slightly mediocre too; should've went with one of the other sandwich places there. If you go here, please pay attention to how they're charging you because once you pay and realized you've been overcharged, you're not...
Read moreAlright, so I swung by South Philly Cheese Steak at Woodbury Commons, you know, lookin’ for something that’d make even Adrienne say, “Wow, Rocky, that’s a meal!” I went for the Steak with Wiz and fries – a classic, right? But lemme tell ya, it wasn’t no champ.
The fries were bland, like hittin' the speed bag with no gusto. And the steak? It was like it’d been dancin' too long in the rain – all watery. Even the bread got soggy, like my old gym towel. Not the kinda knockout I wanted, and not even Adrienne's magic with ketchup could’ve saved it.
They wrapped it good, sure, but then they give me this plastic bag at a food court. I’m thinkin’, what am I gonna do, jog home with it like I’m training for another big fight?
The portion was huge, you know, but even a big guy like me couldn’t handle it. Maybe ‘cause it wasn’t hittin' the spot, kinda like those days when you just can’t land the right punch.
But hey, the staff? Top-notch. Friendly as they come, like Mickey on a good day. They got me extra ketchup, real champs there.
Now, the price – we’re talkin’ $22 for a regular combo. Felt like goin’ a round with Creed on the wallet. In a place where folks shop for big-ticket stuff, maybe that’s normal, but for me and Adrienne, it’s a bit steep.
So here’s the deal – the staff, they’re like the heart of Philly, but the meal itself was more like a second-rate contender. Hard to recommend when it’s like goin’ the distance and endin’ up...
Read moreI have been at this food court pretty often and lately the food and service had good down a lot, I did not problem before, but this time they went overboard. When I order the bell ringer Philly she ask me if I want vegetables and I look at the photo and say yes what on the photo and then I add the value meal what state that it $5.20 extra and I was cool with that after I pay and waited for the food I look at the bill and saw extra charge for vegetables and charge 1.45 extra for something else which later I find to be large upgrade. The reason I piss is that if I going to be charged extra I would like to be notified, the cashier did not say one word about be charge nor was there in writing on the board. It was a total disaster experience and would not recommend to my other...
