Melt Shop — Restaurant in Town of Woodbury

I am severely disappointed across the board. Im not the type of dude to go and write bad reviews or pull a karen but peep this.

I pulled off the highway in search of something different on my trip north. Bruh, i pulled off the highway and went out my way to go to this place.

First, the location on google maps is not where the place is, it's in this food court in the center. So have fun with that. I wasted 10 mins looking for it.

The lady at the counter wasn't patient and seemed annoyed that it was our first time and we were trying to figure out the menu. There wasn't a line and it was not busy. I ordered 4 pc tenders and fries with buffalo sauce. GF got a cheeseburger melt.

We waited about 12 mins patiently. There was no one in front or behind us. We noticed after the order the employees seemed annoyed that we put a order in at 6:30pm on a friday. We saw them pull fries out of the freezer bag and put them in.

When we got our food and sat down outside, the chicken tenders were a deep brown. This is probably due to old oil in the fryer. When i bit into the Chicken Tendies, it was LUKEWARM yall. These tendies was cooked like a hour to a half an hour ago and thrown on my fresh fries. But bruh, they didn't even put the right sauce in this mf'r. They gave me bbq sauce and i asked for buffalo. So i paid 10$ for some lukewarm a$$ brown chicken tendies and the wrong sauce.

My girlfriends cheeseburger melt was nasty too yall. The onions tasted old and like they had been browned earlier. The cheeseburger was greasy af and tiny. It didnt even fill the whole sandwich. The only thing good about it was the cheese melted on the bread. The grease just absorbed into the bread at some points.

So in short, I'd avoid this place unless you wanna be disappointed. Man i was excited af to get some tendies and grilled cheese but what i got for my efforts was an overpriced sh!tty food from lackluster employees and management.

Really disturbing food handling today. The young woman that was cooking fries literally pulled the trash can out and put trash into it with BARE HANDS, smashed the garbage down into the can with her hand (I’m talking elbow deep with her arm in the trash ) and continued to work with food afterwards. No washing hands at all….. but later on she put one glove on to deal with fries (ma’am, your hand is DIRTY, wash it before putting a glove on) That’s the most disgusting thing I’ve seen for a long time. Are they supposed to have a food handlers certificate to work there? Just basic common sense and hygiene not being followed. I’m afraid to know what else she does when no one is watching. There was no way to even bring it up because the whole crew was hanging out with her in the back. Someone please talk to this young lady, because that is...

I feel like Meltshop is no longer what it used to be. I remember getting their truffle melt years before and I thought it was very tasty. However, today the melts did not seem to satisfy. It is still good but maybe not worth its price. I also got their chipotle chicken salad . It was decent, but I had no expectations. I think there is less cheese on the melts now. However, I would say the fried chicken in the crispy chicken melt was nicely cooked and appropriately seasoned.

The service was good and the wait time was appropriate.

Overall, it was a pretty good experience and I will probably try other things in the menu, but I hope they improve on presentation and the quantity of cheese since it is a grilled cheese...
