Picked out an auto battery; signage stated recycling of all lead-acid batteries is free. The only disclaimer was that the price for the recycling is included in the cost of the battery. No statements about added core charges, which, logically, would be included in the sales price, as the signs state.
They added, with no initial explanation at all, a $12 core charge. i showed the cashier a picture of the sign; she called for a customer service manager. We waited for about 15 minutes. The CSM finally arrived. She didn't know what to do, either, so she called for her manager. Another 5 minutes waiting. He looked at everything, and said that he wasn't going to sell it for the advertised price; he would only sell it for that price plus the $12. i clarified carefully that the advertised price and signage specifically includes all charges for recycling, with no disclaimers, and that the signage clearly and specifically advertises that all lead-acid battery recycling is free. He agreed, but restated that he wouldn't honor that advertised price, without also adding on the fee.
i walked out, leaving my items behind, and having wasted 45 minutes of my evening.
The cashier was nice. She understood my issue quite well, and agreed that there seemed to be some disparity between the price and the advertising on the shelf.
Every other employee was rude. i don't believe that i was ever rude to anyone.
False advertising. If i was more vindictive, i would file a case against them, but it's not worth my time. As it is, they lost almost an hour of employee wages, and made no sale with me. Won't make any others, either - i will shop Amazon, instead. (Hear that, Google? You picked the wrong company to partner with, this time.)
Also, the aisles were cluttered, floors dirty, and no employees were available to help customers anywhere i walked in the store during this visit. Based on a couple other visits, this is...
Read moreWe approached the greeter at the door with all our things paid and bags in our own bags. He didn't ask me for a receipt and I said that's funny that that was never asked for before. So I also asked him if he had seen two ladies and I couldn't give a great description so I said thank you anyway. I've been came back in the store because I couldn't find my cousins and I was on the little handicap rolling cart and I was waiting to see if they were still in the store. He turned to me and said I didn't check them referring to the couple with the two kids and the brand new bike. He said that he knows that they don't steal. So I questioned him and said do you think black people steal because you checked my receipt.
I didn't ask for a manager and he kept mumbling and then sort of screamed and so I went back and decided I really wanted to speak to a manager another lady came up to me and said I shouldn't talk to him that way and then she was excused another woman came and finally a manager came. They told me it was their protocol if there's something else I have a bag to be checked which my things are fully bad and the bike that rolled out the door was not...
I'm just going to say please make sure you're not racially profiling people or receipts and to make sure you have racial sensitivity training and that you treat all your customers fairly. I understand that sometimes the readers do have learning differences as my daughter has one. However she would never distinctly pick out a person and say they don't steal.
I thank you for welcoming us to Bremerton and making us feel like we cannot shop at Walmart without thinking that there's a possibility that you might think that we are doing something because we are black.
It just goes to show you that there are preconceived notions about people. And even if you train them they're still there. I personally don't see color and don't understand why you...
Read moreEditing my review as I've seen some craziness in the last few months. I see they have parking lot securiy which doesn't bother me. I was just there to meet up with somebody. Anyhow, problem is the security didn't know how to differentiate between me and other people. He also took a pic of my car after I was sitting maybe 10 minutes. The other person, assumed to be male, literally went to go park but dude clearly smashed into one (of the central) lights at the end of the lot. I don't have dash cam nor do I have enough room in my phone to have recorded it. Was quite comical as a dude drove into what was a parking spot and didnt stop, but he clearly hit the light post. He got out, picked up what looked like maybe a headlight or something that was clearly chunky. Just before security finished driving into the aisle before he drove off. Meanwhile, the car a few spaces away was clearly smoking pungent reefer. (Come on people, not the place or time) Sad that Walmart has such security but they clearly have thier hands too full to notice what's right and what's wrong in the lot.
But security was set to taking pics of my Vehicle?! Perhaps you need to get someone who knows the ropes.
**Original comment....
Without question, theft happens.
Whoever's in charge of Walmart security is not doing it the right way by harassing customers who walk out of the store after purchase.
Not long ago I had a guy behind me grab an empty bag at a non-manned register (typical) and proceed to beg his items and then walk past me. The thief walked out the doors and the cashier was notified, but the cashier said there was nothing he could do about it!?!
I dread even needing anything at any Walmart. The time before last all I picked up was a prescription, and I was asked for my receipt! Seriously?! No! I get my prescriptions elsewherenow. Plus I try and avoid this place like it's a virus as...
