After a terrible weekend where I had my wallet stolen, my phone destroyed and my car crashed into I went to four different AT&T stores and my experience at the Gateway store was far and away the worst. Initially I was directed here because they had the specific phone I wanted in stock, but the bearded employee told me he could not help me without a drivers license. This man didn't listen to me when I told him it was stolen the day prior, and wouldn't even take my legal passport as proof of ID. He told me that only a manager could use a passport, and he directed me to the different store in KoP. When I went to that store the manager there was helpful but they did not have my phone in stock, and told me that the Gateway employee was wrong. I asked if they could call the Gateway store and they did, twice, never did the Gateway employee pickup the phone to answer so that I wouldn't have to continue to waste my time driving between locations. For an employee at a PHONE STORE to not even answer the phone is absurd. So I returned and explained the situation again but was told off.
The employee was uncooperative, unhelpful, insulting, and lazy. He never attempted to get management, never called a higher authority, told me that he cannot help and that I should leave. I eventually went to yet another store where I was eventually helped fully without issue. This franchise's rulebook has figured out how to never take a return.. if you are over 14 days of shipping date (not receiving date), sorry, no returns period. If the product is damaged, then it was your fault and they won't take it back. Ok, understood. But if the product is defective, then you need to go to Apple. If you get a replacement from Apple, ATT won't take the replacement back because it's not the same device they sold you.. So you are stuck with a product you don't like...
