This rating is a reflection my experience with the assistance using Amazon Return at Kohls not the full store. Not sure if the Terrible customer service at this Troy/Coolidge location is unusual or the going standard.
This is my second time making a return at this Kohlâs previously the return counter was located straight to the back but now itâs at the far right in the middle of the store. There is signage at the front of store and 1 other sign once you turn the corner.
I walk up, greet the associate (who is on her phone and barely looks up at us) and I say âI have 6 separate items to return. I have my app open and I also have the emails, which do you prefer?â (I know that when you open the app, you have to go to each one and thereâs two or three steps before you can get to the return code but the plus is you get to see the image. If you do the return emails the barcode is there, but it doesnât have a picture in it or full description in title so itâs not always clear when you have similar items to return). Knowing all this, I asked which one because I donât want her to wait while I click through 12 links or to be confused about what sheâs scanning.
This woman ignores my question/ cut me off saying âI just need to scan each code!â
So now the interaction for me is salty⌠I start showing her the emails because thatâs easiest (for me) and Iâm reading through and holding them each up for scanning; she gets kind of annoyed about not yet/being able to scan one of the items. I respond that âI just held that one up for youâ⌠and sheâs like âwell I didnât get it and itâs not scanned yet. You donât have to have to argue with meââŚ. Iâm like maâam just scan the items.
I want to know why Amazon is pushing people to come to Kohlâs especially when this is a type of service that was provided. Did not catch her name or see name tag on her Disney celebration sweatshirt.    Read moreWas offered to put heavy stuff up on exchange desk. Lady then walked away and did not help us. Other lady skipped us in line thinking we were already at a desk and her coworker would help us. Had to wait another 15 minutes after waiting the first 10 minutes! Now, I don't know if the store is signature scented or not but it smells RANK. I was only making exchanges for about 15 minutes but by the time I left, I was wheezing, starting to throw up, my throat was swollen, and I was reacting so bad to my old clothes I wore in that I changed in the car. Just a jacket and skirt! Talk about embarrassing. What if I had somewhere else to go?! It's like a pollution factory. I used the inhaler twice and took a liquid no dye Benadryl, after showering, and my clothes went straight into the washing machine. Brought stuff home, washed the clothes I BOUGHT 5 times, to no avail. Friend suggested EnviroKlenz so yeah that's helping. Didn't even get what I needed to do done because I couldn't waste more time and get sicker trying to shop around for what I needed. This location never has very much in the way of options anyway so I'll shop online but CERTAINLY NO LOSS THERE. If you need returns or exchanges, talk to Ann. That lady needs a raise. She's fantastic, dealt with my agitation quite nicely, and she's well informed, and pleasant. Wish she worked at another less stinky location so I could always ask for her. Good service from most of the staff. Clean store. It's such a shame. This store has so much potential! Prices are good, selection needs work, and they have got to stop pretending that women and juniors wear the same size. This whole mess started because they sold me Women's clothes when I shopped the Junior's tab!    Read moreI didnât have a good experience today at this store. I walked up to the counter with two employees standing behind the counter. I was there to do an exchange. I walked up to the counter and neither one of the employees spoke to me. I put my new purchase on the counter and my return on the counter, still no words from the neither employee. I went in my purchase to get my credit card outâŚnothing from either employee. I had to speak to the cashier first to tell her what I needed to do with my items. The cashier spent more time and effort talking to her coworker than she did to me. I was very displeased because my experience the previous week was just the opposite. I more than likely will travel to another location opposed to this one. The customer service and the friendliness of the employees was below my expectations. I worked in retail in the past for years and know what the bare minimum of good customer service looks like. The only reason why I didnât give this review a lower star rating is because the store was neat and I was able to get what I went in there for. For more clarity, the customer behind me was told âI can help you over hereâ. She was standing at the second register.
