update 7/7/25: after some back and forth, I sent Juan a cash app request for the amount of my broken phones value minus the $80 he had originally refunded me, and he promptly completed the request and sent me the money. I can appreciate that this was compensated, even if two years later. so thank you. All of the reviews below are previous reviews.
(see below for update) Awesome experience! The vibe was right, Juan and his kid are so good at what they do. I waited a little bit just cause an antenna was acting up but it was totally worth it. Amazon messed up the first delivery but they got the right piece the next day. Thank you, will visit whenever I have tech problems!
Update: (from 5ā to 1ā) My original review above was from June and I am just now getting around to writing a review that reflects the follow up to my phone repair (which occured late June/early July). After the initial "repair" which was a simple replacement of my USB charging port, my phone completely stopped getting any data signal and cell reception. No texts, calls, data. When I returned, I was met with opposition and defensiveness and asked questions like did I pay my bill? And is my sim card scratched? I'd like to mention as well that the tone these things were said in was very condescending and made me feel like I was stupid. Poor customer service. Anyway they looked at my sim card and said it's scratched and that's why it won't work. I go to Cricket and get a new sim card - the staff there tells me my sim card is totally fin, but it's $10 so I'm just like whatever please let's just give it a whirl. Initially I thought it was working but I was incorrect. I contacted them and begrudgingly they said they'd look at it. They opened up the back of my case and poked and said it's all good, phone must not be working. One last solution was to replace the USB charging port - maybe the new one had a faulty connection since that's the spot the antenna connects to. Still not getting reception or data following that replacement. They had no idea what wasn't working or how to fix it, though it very clearly was caused by something they did. I will also mention here that in my first review I said "the antenna was acting up" but it seemed resolved so I didn't mention that Juan and his son both were wrestling with the tweezers and antenna for at least an hour before the first fix.
I came here for service and was not served well. Though they give off fun and playful energy, they do not care to take accountability when something goes wrong. I came here with a working phone minus the charging port, I left with a nonfunctioning phone because what can I do with a phone with an issue of 0 service that I know that I did not cause? And upon trying to get it resolved, I was told to just buy a new phone and sell the one not working, and to not tell the new buyer that it doesn't work. Shady. Save your money. Save your time. Find a reputable and professional spot to get your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend this shop for MacBook computer repair. I brought my computer in before a major exam because I dropped it and broke the screen. Juan offered to fix it by the next day using a used screen. A new screen was 350, he told me the used screen would be 320. I agreed to the used screen to get the computer for my exam. His son told him to order a new screen because the used screen was from a different model. Jaun insisted it would work though. I called the next day and he hadn't gotten to it yet. Same thing next day and the day after. Finally he had the screens shaped and gave me the computer, he didn't have a Mac book charger to test it so he sent it home with me to charge. He accidentally left his post it note on the screen stating that he paid $100 for the broken computer. So he was set to make $220 off of my fix plus the fee to swap screens which he stated would be $30. After the screen didn't work he sent me back home with the computer to try using an hdmi and see if it is truly the screen. I decided to go online and order the new screen, I messaged him and told him I did and would be arriving in 3 days. Fast forward, I brought the new screen in and he swapped the screens out. When I went to pay he told me $50 for swapping the screens but accepted $30 after I reminded him that he agreed to that. The kicker now was that juan lost our screws and put the back cover on with half the screws. So i had to order new screws and the screw driver bits. The Mac book screen is working but the camera is not so I think I will still have to take it to the apple store now. I did notice that they get a lot of phones in and it seems to be their bread and butter and they put phone repairs first. I would guess that is where they make most of their money.
Edited to answer wizkids response. I paid over $300 for the next screen. You charged $30 for the swap two weeks after I needed the screen fixed. I would have paid for the new screen up front if I knew you weren't going to fix it a day like you promises. You still lost the screws and the camera doesn't work on a brand new screen. So you didn't test it too well did you? You were trying to tip me off for the used screen. Unfortunately for you it didn't work out. I told you that I didn't want a used screen but due to time constraints I'd settle for a used screen
Updated edit. Had screen flickering issues. Decided this time to take it to apple. They said that the inside is missing parts and screws and they can't work on it because who ever worked on it last(wizkid) stripped a bunch...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately wrecked my laptop. I have a MacBook Pro they did repairs on for screen replacement. They returned it with missing screws to the outside, because they lost them during repair. I looked up the replacement size and replaced them at home. I brought it to Whiz Kid Computers over apple for this because I needed it back ASAP. There is now connection issues with the screen and camera(it returned with camera issues, but I just bought an external camera because I didnāt have time to send it back), so I brought it to apple for the current connection issues. Apple said itās missing screws and other parts like brackets, and some screws are so stripped they arenāt able to repair it. Itās only a few years old and I believe I paid $1,600 for it at the Apple Store. So yes, they charge a reasonable price for work, however losing screws and stripping screws so it canāt be worked on again is not worth the lower prices.
