Gaslight Costume Shoppe — Local services in Tucson

If there is another costume shop in Tucson, I’m not aware of it. And this is the first time I have ever used gas light so if there’s another one out there I hope somebody tells me about it so that I don’t have to go back.

It was a last minute thing, so I didn’t want to be picky and I knew that I wasn’t going to have a lot of options. So I’m not upset about the lack of options. What I’m upset about is the quality of what I was given relative to how much they charged me

It was a shirt, a vest and a gun holster and for those three things I paid $58. They are welcome to charge as much as they want. It’s a private business, of course. But the quality of the items were really low. If you’re going to charge me $15 for renting a shirt, then I would expect the shirt to be clean and ironed. It wasn’t. I even pointed this out to them, The girl just sort of shrugged. The vest was also kind of old and while not dirty, it was definitely threadbare. And the holster had plenty of spaces for shells but for mysterious reasons only had two empty shells. I pointed that out to them and they said they don’t have any more shells. And I said to her for $28 rental in the holster, you would expect it to have all the shells, and again she just sort of shrugged.

Regarding the $15 for the shirt, a couple of months ago I had to rent a tuxedo at top hat tuxedo and somehow miss placed the shirt and they only charge me $15 to replace an entire shirt. The deposit gaslight wanted on their merchandise at was three times the rental cost which means they wanted a $45 deposit on an old dirty shirt. The whole thing just kind a left a sour taste...

The only place that has Harry Potter patches and costumes for all 4 school houses all year round that I could find and many other themed costumes of other stories. And the staff members were young and attractive and friendly, not rude and tired and unhelpful like many business these days. But I couldn't give them the final star bc I've called them before and needed Lord of the Rings robes and outfits that are too real deal and they don't have them. And they wouldn't buy a costume of Legolas I bought on Amazon hat I didn't like either and I lost $60 and never figured out how to return it either bc I hate online buying...

Because of this lazy, undependable, non-communicative, and disorganized person we got in some MAJOR trouble for a project. Gave material and directions 13 days earlier with a promise of a 14 days turn around. The day I was supposed to pick it up I found out that NOTHING had been done. Unprofessional to a level i have never experienced before. I fervently hope they change management or go out of business because people like this do not merit any sort of business interactions and should stay at home. STAY AWAY from the sewing department of this store...rent, buy and whatnot BUT DO NOT use them if you have any sort...
