To be honest if I didn't know about my silver and gold's weight before coming to their shop I would of probably not noticed the clerk deliberately didn't weigh the majority of my jewelry in front of me and then came back to counter with scale to weigh out the remaining few pieces but the weight he had listed was half of the amount it actually weighed out to and tried to also smudge the price per gram by offering only $117 for 137.5g of 90% pure silver but then offers $60 for only 48g 80% pure silver granted the 48g was weighed in front of me but he conveniently wouldn't provide me their price they pay per gram of silver over even their so called calculations for purity variance. But if I hadn't known better I'd have been taken advantage of for about $100 on my silver by dishonesty in what he weighed out behind the counter where I couldn't see it. He did it very casually and planned out to appear honest showing me that it's been rehearsed and is a common practice at this establishment. Be weary of this and make sure you go in there knowing prior what u have and how much it weighs and what the current rates are. I'd avoid this place to trade in any sort of precious metals. No integrity and no problem stealing from the less fortunate who find themselves having to sell their precious heirlooms for whatever reasons. Don't let them prey on you. Know your stuff before hand and call them out when they pull anything, I did and nothing they said made any sense so watch out for bs as well cause they push a lot of it. Ask questions and know the answers that you should be hearing. You have to keep them honest cas they...
Read moreI had a semi mount purchased from this establishment, My own stone was .42pts and set in this beautiful semi mount, unfortunately the weld holding the head with the stone sheared off and I lost the stone, it was not insured (my fault) the stone was purchased in 1989 I was devastated and they didn't care nor did they have any compassion. all they care is selling selling to make money, we went back to purchase a channel set ring to have it welded to a semi mount ring that I had a diamond set in. the ring I ended up with the channel set diamonds are smaller and do not match the one with the stone. My husband said that he would not spend more than $250.00 total. this salesman was the worst he jacked up the price just to get commission. When I asked to have the two bands be welded together he said oh no you don't want that the channel set band would protect the band with the stone. I have been a customer for 6 years but never again he refused to do what I wanted. If you are going to spend your hard earned money spend it elsewhere they are all about making money on shoddy workmanship. stay away they don't care, If I could give them minus star rating I would give them a minus 100 stars. we drove over 2.5 hrs to get there and was treated badly. and walked away with something I was unhappy with. And I am afraid of their shoddy workmanship. and I am embarrassed to show or wear my rings they do not match and that is unfortunate that I cannot...
Read moreINCOMPETENCE: I took two watches that were in operating condition except for needing new batteries to this shop. I asked for the batteries to be replaced. When the watches were brought back to me, one had the stem used to adjust the time and date jammed in place and immovable. I was informed the other watch would not work even with a new battery. The second watch was given to me with the back cover taped to the watch because the cover would not reattach.
So I took the watches to a store down the street called Jewelry Repair Newport Beach. The owner/operator is Swiss trained. He quickly diagnosed the problems caused by the Tustin Jewelry Mart and fixed them for a reasonable price.
Moral of the story: Don’t take a watch to the Tustin Jewelry Mart for battery replacement or repair. My experience is they don’t know what they are doing and may well break what...
