Since I left my first review the customer service has gone tremendously downhill, and food poisoning is a major concern. They handle raw beef and chicken and then went straight to slicing cooked deli meat without changing gloves or washing hands. Tom, the manager, ran my credit card, then tried to keep running it saying it didn’t go through. I had to show him my bank account where it charged and he finally let me leave, but called me twice after to tell me I had to come pay again. I waited until the payment cleared my bank and had to drive up there and show him my bank statement. He did not apologize and was very rude about the whole ordeal. Since the owner stopped hanging around the customer service and treatment of people has gotten so much worse. I have gotten my meats there weekly for years, but I will not be going back anymore. This place is awesome! The meat is so much better than the grocery store….even my kids can tell the difference in the quality and the taste. This is the only place I will buy my meat now. And the customer service is absolutely amazing!

We saw this place on the way home and decided to stop by. First off, John, Lesly and James were absolutely amazing. It is genuinely hard to find just humble people that love their jobs. All of the meat is grassfeed. They have us a sample of the brisket. It was to die for. We ended up buying tenderloins, aged cheddar cheese, salami and they threw in 3 pork cutlets. We never would have known about this place had we not taken the back road home. They have great prices and the fresh cut meat quality is incomperable to any other place. We will forever make a trip out here to buy their meat. If you are in a 50 mile radius, I would recommend taking a stroll to the Country Meat Market. Did I forget to mention they sell pickled items, fresh fruit and veggies. If I could give this a hundred stars I would!

Best meat market in town hands down! Love the Morris family! 10/23/2025 All the way from Country Meat Market in Tyler, Texas. It’s so nice to have a taste of Tyler back home in the islands. Can’t wait to have a little Texas style bbq in Hawaii. They ship all over the USA, including Hawaii! Thank you again Steve and Karen Morriss and the rest for the County Meat Market staff. I was hoping Tom was gonna hand deliver! Miss and love you all!

Wow.....just wow!! This market has what I would call Top Notch Customer Service. The meat purchased was 2nd to none but the customer service is was what stood out to me the most. Walking in, we were greeted with big smiles and a warm hello. There was one other customer in the shop being helped. While looking at the list of available meats on the chalk board, the lady that helped us was the nicest person I've met in a long time. I didn't feel rushed at all. She said "let me know if you have any questions". I said "will do....thank you". While trying to make a decision, she also pointed out that there was a fold out "menu" next to the register. As I'm looking at that, she also pointed out the sample area, which consisted of their meats to taste. This woman was golden. She explained everything without being pushy. She wanted to make sure we had a clear understanding of what this shop had to offer and I'm glad she did. She left no stone unturned. Giving complete and concise details of EVERYING in the shop we had had questions about. You could tell that she's been there for a while based on her knowledge. After a couple of samples, we were sold and had to purchase a few things. (P.S. well done with the samples.....It was a brilliant idea) Now that the decision was made on a pair of different links, a few ribeye's and a couple salmon fillet's we're good to go. After we paid for the good stuff, the lady that helped us then walked us to our vehicle. We talked all the way to the Jeep. She then mentioned that she had a Jeep as well and the conversation continued for a few more minutes. This is how you get return customers. A lot of larger companies should a take a page from Country Meat Market's approach to customer service. If I'm ever in the area again, I will GLADLY spend my money here. Not only because the meats were great but because I don't mind spending money where I'm treated like a regular despite being a first time customer. I'm speechless....please don't ever change. Oh yeah....we didn't get the name of the lady that helped us but whatever her name was, give her a raise. She...

TLDR: Exceptional Service, Top Quality Products. Prepare to be impressed.

I just visited for the first time Saturday and this place instantly made my day. I could sense there were something special here, and that was immediately confirmed after walking in. Although they were busy, Tom greeted us at the door with a smile and began to share some information about the store and their commitment to quality products. I don't know if I have ever experienced this kind of genuine service.

You might read these incredibly rave / glowing reviews and think something is strange with people saying things like “I’m obsessed” “I’m astounded” “This place will blow you away” etc. etc. If I had read the reviews first (like I normally do) I would probably wonder myself. I have spent a lot of time on Google reading reviews and I have never seen a business not only receive this level of praise, but also respond to so many of the posts in such a personal and heartfelt way. And if by chance someone isn’t completely satisfied they proceed to absolutely bend over backwards for that customer. Throw in top quality products and I don’t know what else you could possibly ask for.

After talking with another very long time customer (who has been coming since her parents brought her in as a young child) the owner Steve Morriss sat down and joined the conversation. After hearing first hand the family tradition of “We are here to serve people, we just happen to sell meat” it was clear they take this to heart. I run my own business and work very hard to ensure my customers are genuinely satisfied, but after reflecting on this experience, I am inspired to take my own commitment to my customers to the next level.

God Bless the entire team here for not just “selling meat” but for being such a positive influence in peoples lives. Please keep up the great work! PS... the New York strips, Salmon & Bacon were excellent! Looking forward to seeing you...

I cannot tell y'all how amazing this place is! I just recently found this gem in Tyler. I was referred by a friend. Walking up to the building, I noticed these cute little picnic tables outside covered in red and white checkered tablecloths, some with local produce available for purchase, which looked heavenly. The tomatoes and cucumbers and onions made a delicious salad!

As I walked through the door, I was greeted by multiple employees. As I started to look around, an employee, by the name of Tom, led me through the process of how to order and what was available to purchase. It was a very unique process on how they present the cuts of meat. They bring out a tray of already cut products, they don't sell these, they are only for customers to view. Then once you decide what you would like, they bring out the big slab... and cut it right in front of you. Nothing is pre-cut... my husband LOVED that! Once weighed and packaged, and paid for, they WALK IT OUT TO YOUR CAR!!! Did y'all hear that??? You don't even get that at the grocery stores anymore! To top it off, Tom asked if I was going directly home, or if I still had a few stops to make. I had a few more errands to run, so he included some ice in my bag to keep everything cool until I got home, because y'all know this heat is no joke.

Now for the real review... I cannot tell y'all the taste and tenderness in the NY strips we had... words cannot describe. I have NEVER bought from a butcher shop, and will NEVER go back to grocery store meat. Our home cooked steaks, were better than most steak houses.

We were treated so kindly, and I can really appreciate good customer service, as I used to be in the public service industry. Thank you to Tom and the rest...
