I still love the malls and real shopping out of the weather. Malls are still better than strip centers-does anyone actually like shopping store to store in bad or rainy weather? I would rather shop online than buy/shop at a direct store open air mall/centre. Online shopping is fine but personsally seeing, touching, trying on items before purchasing is best. Who likes the hassle of returns.
Always great to see families, people and couples in this day and age enjoying time together in a social setting. Of course, the mall walkers enjoying.
Mall has less stores than previous (lost some of the big names). Has anchor stores JcPenney, Kohls, Dillards Outlet and Sears. Has many cellular/cable company stores. Yankee Candle, Victoria Secret, Jewelry Stores, children clothing stores, Spencer's, batting cage/inside golf, food court, lenscrafters and more. Has many benches to rest and enjoy. You like shopping - you will find deals. Clean. But not a fan of the supposively artistic decor that to me screams fix me! Loss of business or stores no doubt are impacted by online purchase, but too you look and say is that the case here or they missing the full outlook getting visitors and getting them to return? Hopefully they will see what is the obvious that did draw business and fix it to make it shine again. You have to ask yourself- did they give up? Would hate to see a...
Read moreHaven't been here in a couple of years. The clothes are great but we went mid day and when we were finished shopping there was only ONE register open in the entire store with about 6-8 people in line. A manager did come to handle a return but didn't stay to help additional customers. Another person was following the manager (possibly training) but they didn't help anyone either! Not happy with the wait or how they put our entire cart full of clothes in 2 bags with hangers and all! We were able to find most of what we needed. Only items that we could not find were ANY boys dress clothes or a bed skirt. I was disappointed that they had a sign for Van Heusen boys clothes but not one pair of dress pants or button up shirts in the store. They had a large selection of bedding sets but not much for individual items. I didn't see ANY employees upstairs to even ask for help. Now when we first got to the store I saw 5 employees downstairs between men's and women's.... Apparently they either all left or went on break at the same time.... For the prices they want you to pay (even on sale) I would expect to have matching service. I'd be willing to give them...
Read moreThis is a difficult review as Eastgate Mall is an example of a retail mall trying to reinvent itself in the current economic environment. Easily half the storefronts have shuttered but there are lots of positives. Their approach seems to focus on more businesses that provide experiences for families and individuals. There's a small kid's play area, which is free, and some low cost rideable activities as well. Discovery Zone, which is the latest addition, was bubbling with laughter and fun! Pampering activities such as massage and nail care and plenty of food court experiences! Yes, there is retail, but don't be surprised if you can't find the perfect outfit for your social engagement. On the downside, Eastgate needs to remove vending machines that are not maintained and add MORE lighting. In particular, the area around Dillard's entrance was dark, and lighting is essential for a mall to feel inviting and safe. No doubt, Eastgate Mall is in transition, but I would recommend a visit on a dreary day when being outdoors is...
