Please, please, please read the negative reviews and trust them. We went into this stay thinking ok, so the rooms are outdated, it will be okay for one night as it is in a convenient location to where we need to be.||||We had an early morning event, so we wanted to ensure that everyone could get as much sleep as they could and be comfortable. We had four people, so we booked the 3 room suite (2 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms and a living room/kitchenette). The screenshot is what is advertised on the website and there is a picture of what we got...a collapsible/portable table with thrift shopped chairs from a 90s Pizza Hut. We thought good grief, ok, nice bait and switch, but we will deal. Then we saw how stained and dirty things were. The mattresses were sagging like they were well past their prime, perhaps 10 years past their expiration date. More looking around and we found holes where doors had been punched, sections of baseboard missing, furniture torn up, water damage, mold, nasty windows, safety hazards with an outlet that appeared to have had burn marks...ok, now I am feeling upset and disgusted. THEN we went into the bathroom. An occasional stray hair is one thing, but what we found was a full on nest like a rat gathering supplies to take back into their burrow or something. The tub was filthy and worn...the vent moldy and these were things that were seen to the visible eye. I was done.||||At this time, another family we were staying with came to our room and stated they went to complain about their room's cleanliness and were moved. The new room was worse with feces left in the toilet and used contacts on the floor and sink area. What in the world? Who is running this place and do they think this is appropriate? The health department should seriously do an inspection. I realize that the Holiday Inn is not a 5 star facility and maybe this place is in need of updates, but there is no excuse for a facility to not be clean, especially after COVID and updated cleaning standards.||||We are blessed to travel extensively and have been to 48 states. We have been in some super nice places and some places that were acceptable to spend the night, but I won't go back. I have NEVER experienced what I did here nor have I EVER left a one star review, but there is always a first. Seriously, I spent a summer sleeping in a tent in the woods that was cleaner than this hotel.||||Please I am telling you, DO PASS and go somewhere, anywhere else. Should you choose to stay I hope that you are up to date on your vaccines and tetanus boosters, bring your cleaning products and maybe your own sheets and a black light to check services. Don't be surprised if you bring home newly adopted bed bugs...but then again maybe even they are smart enough to...
Read moreWe had a long weekend of walking around. I was very sore and wanted to book a place that had a hot tub. I booked at a different place in Cincinnati on my phone and checked in a few minutes later. However, I was informed when I inquired at the desk, that it was still closed due to COVID (though there was nothing mentioned about this on the site when I booked it). The frustration from that, plus the charge for parking that I hadn't known about, resulted in me canceling and settling for this place a little out of our way (because they said their pool and hot tub was open when I called to make sure before booking).
Even though I read some of the reviews on another site, I thought I would chance it anyways. Indeed, the place does look rundown and has a very shady feel about it; even though the staff was wonderfully friendly and the lobby was very nice and spacious (and yes, the hot tub was nice and overall worth it for me). It looked as though a considerable amount of effort had been put into the hotel to make it more updated and nicer on the inside, but it just fell short. Yes, it does smell musty, and as you can see from the pictures I've included, signs of damage/neglect, and filth are apparent. The luggage carts were also a little old and gross; and riding in the elevator was an uncomfortable experience with so many creepy/creaking noises that it made you wonder when the last inspection was (and made you pray that you weren't going to plummet to your doom). Additionally, the ice maker near our room wasn't working and the electronic locks were old and struggling to function.
The room itself was ok; we liked having the fridge and microwave for our stuff. The bathroom door, shower head, and vent were dirty/damaged. The overall atmosphere of the room also felt "off." We let our praise and worship music play on our computer while we stepped out for dinner and things felt a little better by the time we got back.
The other thing I thought was weird (though not a deal breaker for us) was that there wasn't a free breakfast. Yet, the breakfast that you could purchase (according to what I read/viewed on the site) looked identical to the complimentary breakfast that we were provided us in Florence by this same brand.
Overall, I probably wouldn't choose this place again, but it's still better than your budget hotels that are crawling with crime and critters. If you have to "settle", you can do that here. If you don't, go someplace a little...
Read moreThis was our second time staying here and the first seemed better from the room we had and location of it compared to this one. Bed is comfy and so are pillows except they deflate too much so we needed a lot extra. Bathroom was decent but showerhead needs to be adjustable and a more concentrated flow instead of spreading out so much which makes it harder to seem like I can get my hair clean and in a faster more efficient way. There was a stain on one of our pillowcases and the curtains had issues. The sheer one had a tear in it and the blackout one was hanging off one corner, separated from the rod that lets you pull it all the way shut or open so we always had some daylight peeking in to the room. Needed help from front desk to understsnd how to operate TV so a card in the room with instructions and the TV guide wouldve been nice instead of only relying on the one channel on the TV to know whats on. Some channels we didnt get even though the TV listed them like channel 19 which I would've liked to watch while in the room. Hallways noises are heard way too easily in the room and many teens were staying here this past weekend for sports events so were loud in the hallways a lot but it stopped before it got too very late at night. Please soundproof rooms better though. No free breakfast is provided either and we had to ask for extra coffee supplies and toiletries for our 3 day stay. They said no room cleaning would be provided either in between days but that was ok with us as I dont need that when just staying for a few nights. Theres a pool and exercise room too which i wanted to use but just didnt have time for. Elevator broke during our stay and fire dept had to be called to fully fix it but that didnt affect us as we were on the ground floor. Seems they fixed the issue as quickly as they could though. This is a convenient location for all of the best Cincinnati style food though with Frisch's, White House, Gold Star, Skyline, Bob Evans, Penn Station, and a LaRosa's Pizza all close by. Also the mall is right there too for any shopping needs as well as a Jungle Jims, the best grocery store Ive found in the world, with so much...
