Let me start by saying the staff here are amazing. Every one of them are helpful and knowledgeable. Which is why this situation is so unfortunate. I placed an online order today (Saturday) through the app and was given an error message. I went to the store and let them know that I didn’t receive a confirmation but that Ace had taken the $214 out of my account. The store associate was great and called customer service for me, customer service was not friendly at all and told me to report the charge as fraudulent. That may not seem like a big deal. However, it is Saturday, I am now out $214 for the weekend, I don’t have my son’s birthday present, and my debit card is locked due to fraud. At what point does something go from mildly inconvenient to infuriating, because I believe I’m on the line. Honestly if the person on the phone hadn’t been such a witch I probably wouldn’t be so frustrated. How can you, as a business, take someone’s money and have no record of it?
I love having a store like this in Proctorville so I go out of my way to shop here. By that I mean today I was at Menards and near Lowe’s, I knew Lowe’s was $189 for this item, ace was $229 in store and $199 online. So I went out of my way to order this online from Ace and pay $10 more. Because I want this business to stay in Proctorville. I try to buy every large item I can here if it’s within a reasonable price of their competitors. I am in here as often as I possibly can be. That will not be the case anymore. Read moreWorking on a home project over Mother's Day weekend, I ran out of fencing supplies. I stopped in to Ace Hardware. Next day, I went back for paint. Both visits, an associate greeted me within a minute of coming through the door. I was asked if I needed assistance. I did. The associate took me direct to the item I needed. Second visit, for paint, that associate was informative about the product, mixed my paint and even offered to keep a record of that mixture should I need to return for more someday down the road. Checkout was friendly and efficient. All associates seemed happy to be there! What a difference compared to "other" hardware stores. I will definitely be shopping at Ace...
