Prices are good (better than TJ Maxx or Marshall's) but the lines and store procedures are so inefficient it's maddening. Without fail, you can expect to stand in line for 30-60 minutes. They never have enough staff to man the cash registers and the staff don't seem remotely bothered or pressed to move any faster (and yes, some people stand behind the registers, doing other things, so not everyone who is available is on a register). I imagine the cashiers have just become desensitized because customers are probably always frustrated at them. But I think the store really needs to prioritize people on the registers. I don't really come here often, but needed to write a review now because I visited twice in the past two weeks and both experiences were frustrating.
The first time I went I planned to buy a sizeable new wardrobe for a new job, and probably had about 20 items in my cart, but the dressing room was closed (this was around 4:00 on a weekend). When I asked a salesperson if the dressing room was just closed temporarily (maybe someone was on break), she said no and that they close the dressing room each day after a certain time (??). That is insane. I literally put down half of my cart because I did not want to buy clothes I hadn't tried on. Knowing this store, having to come back to return meant I'd have to stand in a ridiculously long line. I ended up having to stand in the aisle and try some clothes on over my clothes, which was super tacky. I then stood in a long line, as usual.
Today, I went back because, unsurprisingly, some of the items I bought that I couldn't try on in store (like pants), didn't fit, and one of them was actually damaged, so I had to make returns. It is ridiculous that there is no dedicated "customer service" aisle for returns or other issues. I had nothing but a return, but stood in a line for about 45 minutes (came in at 2:30 pm). And for some reason, the line barely moves. Then by the time I get up to the register, my actual return takes 30 seconds. It is really an epic waste of customers' time. They need to have better systems. I don't think I will be returning to this store, even though the prices...
Read moreI'm here right now and this is about to be my THIRD time abandoning my cart and giving up. The lines are incredibly LONG & SLOWWW. I usually don't leave a review like this but it's actually insane. I gave 6 chances to this store and the 3 times I actually bought stuff, it's because I gave in and waited the hour on line, yes an HOUR. One time I wasted and hour in line when I had to get to the airport and I was leaving my things after giving up, a kind older woman got the manager for me and the manager brought me up to the front after hearing my situation, the cashier (who was organizing HANGERS while only TWO other employees were on registers) rudely asked "I just don't understand why I have to ring her up" like girl, be so forreal! And in front of the customer?? Honestly what was the point of building this store just to choose the most atrocious store staff possible? You're better off driving to a different Burlington so you can actually make your purchase smoothly. They literally don't care about the ridiculous lines, they won't put anyone else on the register. But then they have the nerve to have the entrance ropes off with security LOL Well, now that I killed some time writing this review, I am ONCE AGAIN abandoning my cart. I won't be back, it'll just be a...
Read moreUpdate 5/6/24...Nothing has changed. Lines still excessively long, not enough cashiers, and clutter on the floors. Go any where but here. And the so called owners replying to these posts, get real. The issues with this store are on-going. And as long as you're making profit, there is no incentive for change. But it never ceases to amaze how this store in particular, consistently chooses to ignore the voice of your customers.
Currently standing in line, which is literally wrapped around the other side towards the men section. There is only one cashier working, and they're closing registers. Make it make sense. Customer service is non existent and there is no excuse for this level of service. I shop at Burlington frequently and, no other has lines like this. At minimum, managers should be jumping on the to assist, but clearly that's of no importance. Maybe it's time to invest in quality associates so your not short staffed. Or maybe train the ones you have on multiple functions so they can act as back up. I would recommend driving 20 mins south to the Linden store or even north to Morris Plains and skipping this location entirely. There is no reason anyone should have to wait over 40mins to be...
