I actually ended up in this Popeye by accident. I usually order ahead of time in the location at 2568 US 22E which provides excellent service. On the other hand this Popeye here is probably the worst Popeye I've been to. So I go in the place expecting everything to be ready. The girl in the front said the chicken is still cooking. I ended up waiting for around 15-20 minutes before the chicken arrives. But now the girl couldn't bag my order now that she's attending to this other customer . They're talking back and forth for another 15 mins in Spanish and the girl can't still get the man's order! So I finally called the other girl doing the drive thru to please bag my order. The whole ordeal took more than 30 minutes from the time I called in the order to the time I got out of there! Mind you, the store was not even full of customers! I finally left and I see these 2 new guys trying to order but the girl in the front is still talking to this other customer! Unbelievable! Just because I pressed the wrong address on my phone! I promise you I will never come to this Popeye location ever again! Take note people! Do not go to this Popeye store located at 1720 US 22E in Union NJ. It's too bad I could not put a zero rating! Read moreThis place hasn't been around long. And yet of the 5 times that I have stopped on my commute to work only one time was my experience respectable.
Yesterday (3/21/25) before my night shift I pulled into the drive thru to pick up a mobile order I had already made 15 minutes before entering at ~5:10 PM. There were 4 cars ahead of me. And the lot was empty. It took a whopping half hour for the team of at least 4 people in the restaurant to work through 4 orders in the drive thru. By the time I got to the window I waited another 5 minutes and had to wave down the drive thru attendant who disappeared from his post to tell him I was about to be late to work and just wanted to be handed my mobile order which should have been set aside already. It wasn't even put together yet.
Mind you I didn't treat the worker rudely. I merely pleaded to get my supposed-to-be ready meal so I can hurry to work. A lady who appeared to be the manager then told the worker in spanish that she could cancel my order on me if she wanted to-
To say the service at this location is a complete disaster is an understatement. They are consistently slow and I frankly cannot trust that I can stop here for a meal before my shift. There's a fundamental problem with service here that needs to be addressed. I will not be back here...

I waited 2 to 3 minutes, but no one acknowledge me wasn’t sure about the situation so I just went inside to order instead after I place my order. I got one breast, wing, and leg. Mind you I was the only one there at that time when I order. They told me the drive-through was working, but for some reason, no one acknowledge me that said after I placed the order, I’m assuming the wing wasn’t ready and I ended up waiting more than 20 minutes during that time other people came and they got their orders with no problem . My issue is the lack of communication if they told me they didn’t have a wing they could’ve just gave me another piece of chicken if the wing wasn’t ready. Very bad communication there if I knew it would take that long to cook the chicken. I would’ve not even bother ordering in the first place. Just very unacceptable customer service and I don’t think I’ll come back here after that. No reason for me to wait more than 20 minutes.
