As a plus sized bride, I was really dreading going to try on wedding dresses. I worried that nothing would look right or beautiful. However, as soon as my mom and I walked into Goddess Gowns, Autumn began to help diffuse those feelings. She was immediately warm and welcoming and encouraged us to look around and to turn any dresses I wanted to try on. She didn't rush us or impose a limit on how many dresses we could try on. They had a wonderful selection of dresses, especially for curvier figures, and we turned about 8 of them. Even though the shop was a bit busy for homecoming she handled it all with ease and still treated us like we were her priority.
When it came time to try on dresses, she continued to help me feel even more at ease by telling me about herself, educating me about the differences for the dresses I picked, or asking me about myself and my fiance. She really knew how to melt my apprehension and nerves, which helped me focus more on what I was looking for and wanted in my dress.
All of the dresses I tried on were beautiful in their own way and Autumn helped me see them with different accessories (veils, and hair pieces), in different lighting, or my personal favorite the sparkle layer.
Autumn was also incredibly perceptive and used the feedback I gave and her vast industry knowledge to go pull a few more dresses that I hadn't considered. In fact, I'm pretty sure she ended up bringing in the dress that I ultimately fell in love with and said yes to.
Autumn definitely made the day special and treated my mom and I with kindness, consideration, and care. We both left feeling very happy with the dress I chose, and the amazing customer experience we had.
This shop is aptly named as every bride gets the opportunity to feel like a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: so maybe it was 2 employees and a friend. Still the point is the same. They were laughing and carrying on while i was TOTALLY ignored. I'm all for enjoying your job but could one of them stopped by to check on me once in the hour I was there? I was ready to make a purchase but no way to do that.
And your only response is "we don't have 3 employees." I was giving you a second chance to make amends and that is the best your can do?
I went to your shop a couple of Saturdays ago. I called ahead to see if I needed an appointment for a Mother of Bride/Groom dress. And the reply was no. I just wanted to make sure there would be someone available to assist as I'm ready to buy a dress. I get to the shop around 11 and am greeted and ushered to go down stairs to look around. I fit on a couple of dresses. There were a couple of girls also fitting on prom dresses. In the whole time NO ONE stopped by to check on any of us. We finally went upstairs to leave. At that point we see 3 employees sitting by the front counter just chatting to each other. Not sure if there were any customers upstairs but surely someone could have checked on us and the others girls at some point in the hour+ that we were there. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED in the LACK of service. You lost a sale. I was so ready to buy a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend Goddess Gowns for dresses or tuxedos, it was extremely stressful to deal with as a bride. My wedding party ordered 5 dresses and 10 tuxedos. After going in and picking out my colors and dresses, through some fault of the designer, I had to go pick new colors to go with the same dresses. 1 dress fit perfectly, 1 needed hemmed up, 3 were ordered the wrong size and had an extra charge to add in material. They told my bridesmaid that lives out of state that she was measured wrong and that charge was through the seamstress. But my bridesmaid that went in and tried on a size 10 that would not fit, they measured her for an 8, then went ahead and ordered her a 10 just to have her pay that charge for more material. Not their fault though, seamstress charges. The biggest measurement is supposed to be the one used for ordering because itās easier (and less expensive) to take the dress in rather than adding material. If you need a tuxedo, spend an extra $20 and buy one to keep that will come with a real tie. If you must go here, ask about the free tuxedo for the groom deal. Because we spent over $2000 on just the tuxās and didnāt...
