Creations By Laura Bakery & Café — Restaurant in Union

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience with this bakery which came recommended by a friend. I ordered the cake a month ago and sent the first picture for a reference. You did say that it may not look exactly like the photo so I guess I cannot complain about that because it does not. I get the impression that you do a lot of sugar sheet printing to save time or because you do not like to do the “writing”, but I feel that you should be more transparent about that in the future. This would decrease expectations the customer may have. The cake did taste good. My biggest complaint is that the cake looked misshapen immediately after I took it out of the box. I was worried maybe I did something to it (I had driven home with it carefully and put it in the refrigerator as soon as I got home). The cake continued to collapse throughout the party. It looked awful. After cutting the cake, we found that top cake was smaller than the bottom cake. There was excess icing piped into the gaps and along those sides to make them look proportionate. This excess icing was what was collapsing. I felt very frustrated and disappointed. We paid $70 for a cake that was put together poorly. From the sugar sheets to the construction, it felt like this was lazy, it felt like this did not matter to you. I hope moving forward that you will increase your transparency about the decorations and provide a better constructed...

Laura and her staff were wonderful to work with. Even though the venue we booked for our wedding said they take care of ordering the cake, Laura did not mind at all that I stopped in to ask questions directly with her.

We originally chose two flavors four our four tier (carrot/cream cheese and snicker doodle/cream cheese), but with Laura's help we decided change one of the four layers to what she said was her most popular (fresh strawberry filling with vanilla frosting).

She also gave me ideas for creating our own cake topper. The cake was exactly how we pictured it would be and turned out perfect! It was rustic-chic.

At then end of the night, we realized we only had one bite of the cake at the cutting. That one bite was delicious! Guests raved about the cake and many commented on how yummy the strawberry was!
