What a nightmare! After having everything misrepresented and doing the same test over and over, we had to delay cataract surgery for my father because of time constraints. When we were finally able to get to it, we were given three points of contact and expected to know which phone number went to which person and what their job responsibilities were. I must have called them over 20 times and still nothing got done and everything just got more and more confused.
Pacific Eye Institute didnāt give me the prescriptions to get filled but the paperwork said to fill them in advance. When I called to inquire how I was to give my father these meds I was told to call the Victorville office. I called the number on the instruction page that was right next to a Victorville address and was told I had called the wrong number. I donāt know what Pacific Eye Institute means when they say āthe Victorville office.ā Where is this magic place?
At the last minute they say he needs a chest x-ray when the paperwork clearly states that this is only for people with Emphysema or COPD or breathing problems. Not my dad. I asked ab out this during the visit and was told, in person, that he didn't need one. They also didn't give me orders for any x-rays.
I tried to call and find out if I was supposed to fax the EKG and Primary docās report over to Pacific Eye Institute or if the doctor had already done so. I couldn't find out because Pacific Eye Instituteās receptionist thinks sheās a mind reader or something and kept interrupting me. Iām sorry I donāt speak fast enough or know the correct terminology for their specific business, but I donāt; such expectations are rude and unprofessional.
Inept or lazy employees put the blame on the patient or the patient's primary doc. They can do no wrong. What a waste of time. . Contact information on paperwork not up to date. Compliance Officer (to complain) contact information was incorrect. They gave me another number that was disconnected. I called back a third time and was placed on hold for over 7 minutes only to be sent to Billing, who had no idea what I was talking about. How is it this place has no complaints? Could it be that by making the compliance officer inaccessible, they frustrate people into just walking away? I know I'm fed up and tired.
Well, they have a complaint now. I will be following up with the State tho' they probably won't do anything because this is just shoddy business practice and patient disrespect,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOffice Management Cindi please contact me. I will be emailing a formal complaint about privacy and treatment of patient's especially VA Veterans. Your desk receptionist who shouts out to people that, "anyone can reschedule an appointment if they don't like the wait" was unprofessional. Your company over books and has clients showing up 30 minutes before their appointment and then waiting over two hours to be seen. Not sure if that was a practitioner or who the staff was that made an announcement for the "drivers or family member" to please leave because you don't have room for the appointments coming in. Well if you'd see people at their scheduled time family or drivers would not have to wait. Let it be known that people wait 2-6 months for an appointment. Your company changes schedules without notification. In addition to your check in staff spouting off patients personal information is a violation of HIPPA. Do you folks take into consideration people drive over an hour to come to your location. They can't eat until after their procedure. So waiting two to three hours is not helpful to people who take medication. Put yourself in their shoes. How would you feel if you overhear someone talking about your loved one the way you do. Not to mention you are literally the only place VA accepts in the area. Hence why I will be writing a lengthy email to VA and anyone else who makes decisions to contract your facility. Care is not being provided with quality or consideration. The type of care you are giving does not meet even the minimum standards. When we walked in the receptionist was not kind or understanding to my family members inability to walk. They did not take into consideration the needs of others at all. They are not friendly or helpful. I would not suggest anyone comes here. I would definitely recommend Invision as they do not over book? The staff is helpful and courteous. They do NOT try to upsell you when you are sitting in your chair about to get a procedure. Do better Pacific eye institute. Donāt take advantage of people who are in pain or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI initially went to the Eastvale office in late November for an initial appointment with Dr. Park after my optometrist was concerned during my recent eye exam about what she observed and the symptoms Iāve been having. Dr. Park was amazing and listened to my concerns before examining my eyes. Both he and my optometrist found evidence of papilledema (swelling of the optic nerve) so he referred me to Dr. Biro in Upland.
My visit to the Upland office was extremely disappointing. Dr. Biro barely asked about symptoms Iāve been having (daily headaches, dizziness, tinnitus, blurred vision) before examining my eyes for less than a minute. He told me that he saw no papilledema and said that I just needed to lose weight. When I asked how does papilledema suddenly disappear within 2 weeks, he didnāt listen to me and kept acting as though it had been found many months ago and improved over time. When I explained that I had already lost 20 pounds before these symptoms began, he ignored me and just insisted that my weight was the problem. When I brought up my worsening vision, he said that it must not really be that bad since āI have 20/20 vision.ā I insisted that as a 26 year old who wears progressive lenses, I do not in any way have 20/20 vision. He then tried to argue more before realizing his mistake, but then he blamed that on the technicians. Any further questions and concerns were cut off as he insisted that he knows best since āitās his specialty.ā I have spent years being ignored by doctors who havenāt faced their own biases toward overweight patients, and I absolutely refuse to put up with it anymore. I will happily find a different doctor, and I sincerely warn anyone who might see Dr. Biro in the future to be...
