Upland Memorial Park, unfortunately, has fallen into a disappointing state of neglect. What could be a beautiful and inviting space for families, picnickers, and community events is instead plagued by an overwhelming amount of trash and poor upkeep. Walking through the park, you’re likely to encounter litter scattered across the lawns, overflowing trash cans, and debris lining the paths. The sight is not only unpleasant but also speaks volumes about the lack of care and maintenance this park receives.
The playground area, which should be a safe haven for children, often has broken equipment and litter around it, making it less appealing for families. Even the picnic areas, which could be a wonderful spot for gatherings, are frequently dirty and unkempt. It’s disheartening to see such a potentially great community asset reduced to this state.
In addition, the overall vibe of the park feels unsafe and uninviting due to its poor condition. While Upland Memorial Park has the space and potential to be a beautiful, thriving public area, the current lack of maintenance makes it hard to enjoy. Until significant improvements are made, it’s difficult to recommend this park to anyone seeking a clean and pleasant...
Read morePeople that are posting great things about this park have list their minds and only see how it is on holidays or weekends, but you'd change your mind quickly if they only knew what goes down here. The updated playground, the the dog park and Al will just end up being wasted money for the city of Upland and it was only done to make it look like it's been cared for but nothing to help the actual issue and pocketing the most of the money. The use of drugs from not just homeless people but all sorts of people and the youth., Access to drugs and how cheap they've gotten and what little is done about it makes this place a drive thru for the stuff. I'd never bring my child or pet here, the possibility of them coming across something or someone that would harm them, something they might see is far to great for me to even step foot at this park. When people get caught using drugs or with drugs are back out and at it in 24 hours and that's if they even get arrested, not even enough time for them to sober and think about any actual consequence of what harm they're doing to themselves and...
Read moreIt seemed a nice enough park. My friend & I went there to kill time & search for a bathroom while my dad was having eye surgery at the nearby Pacific Eye Institute, and unfortunately, due to COVID, the park's restrooms were locked up tight. Thus one of the main things we judged the park on was availability of heavily wooded, low traffic areas where one could duck behind a tree; this park was distinctly lacking in such places. I'm sure the locals are happy about that, for the park is in a mixed-use zone, with a hospital and several medical buildings, and then pure residential surrounding it, none of which probably wants a public park in the middle that smells of urine. On the other hand we did see several homeless people, and if they don't have somewhere nearby to use the facilities they are more likely to go outside of the homes &...
