Great place with a really large selection of stuff. Went in for an RC crawler and picked up a few. Customer service was great, they are all friendly and answered all of my questions. Store is nice and clean and well organized.
My only reason for 4 stars is, even after multiple purchases (and not cheap ones either) my last RC crawler I bought from them I feel I was overcharged for. Every other hobby shop I've been to, including this one, is/has been really good with keeping up with manufacture pricing and as far as I've been coming here they have also been really good at keeping up with the prices from manufacture. My last visit, they had a model I wanted and it was on sale for $30 cheaper straight from the manufacturer, (which in turn other hobby shops, even online, prices were updated, even on Amazon. But they have always been the closest to me in regards to distance) and I've been told from employees there that they are great with keeping up with current manufacturer sales and pricing. Up until my last visit that has been true, however for this last purchase they just did not want to honor the price. I even showed them on the site of the manufacturers website, but still was no. A bit of a bummer, I do feel a little jipped but don't let that take away from the amazing quantity and customer service overall. I will continue coming and supporting this hobby shop. Still a happy camper and satisfied customer, but a little can go a long way.
UPDATE AS OF 05/07/2025:
I would steer very clear of this hobby shop from now on, when it comes to RC cars at least. I'm gonna leave 2 stars because their inventory is incredible for the most part. But their prices are insane. Same issues as last time, they say they match manufacturers price but they don't - Ironically as they always say themselves "whatever you see on their sites (manufacturer's sites) is what you'll see here". I wish that was true. I wanted a few different RC cars. Was ready to make a big purchase of 3, maybe 4 RC cars, plus some batteries and a charger. One car, manufacture has it for 225, they wanted 329. Another car is 150 from manufacture, they wanted 189. And another, they wanted 389 for a car that's 245 on manufactures site. You can tell them to look at the site but they won't, they will tell you instead to order it there and they won't match it. And no, these models I wanted are not limited edition or anything like that, they're all in stock on all the major websites and even the manufacturer websites themselves. They only had one car which would have been the 4th that was normal price but they had put a stale taste for me at this point already. Also was surprised when I disagreed with the prices the gentlemen basically just started ignoring me and walking away. Mind you I've made dozens of purchases already here. And these manufacturer prices were regular prices, not sale prices. Even if they were sale prices, they should match them.
I tried to approach the gentleman who helped me to tell him thank you for taking the time to show me all these cars and their prices and radio silence, like I wasn't even there. That kind of treatment id only expect from my kids or my wife! Not a grown sales person! However, this has been my only negative customer service experience here.
That being said, all of my previous visits have been positive and customer service has always been amazing. Their inventory is probably some of the best. But their prices are just way too inflated.
PS. There are no loyalty programs either of any sort so no matter how much you've spent here, you'll always pay the pricing they want. Most other LHS will give you track days and small coupons like 5 to 10 bucks off which is great for parts and accessories. Might not be much on big purchases, but as I stated in my original review, a little can...

I went in here today to see if they had a part for my RC truck. I was told they don't stock parts for my Redcat.
OK fair enough, I then asked if they had a generic servo arm/bracket.
I was told again by a dude in hat they dont sell parts for my Redcat.
So in the 30 ft long wall-o-parts behind him there wasn't a 1 1/2" piece of plastic with a hole at each end that I could have made fit.
They guy made no attempt to even look or try to find something that could work. I don't work there and I'm sure I could have found something in 5 minutes.
Look, I get they dont stock parts for Redcat. But I'm pretty sure there was something that would have fitted.
It was the sheer lack of interest and stock answer of we dont stock parts for Redcat and absolutely no effort of doing anything other than leaning over the counter that is wrong with this picture.
There was nobody else in the RC section, they weren't busy.
In 2020, physical stores need to add value to stay relevant. This place added nothing. and yes, they are expensive.
I ordered the part on Amazon, it will be here within 24hrs and probably cheaper than theirs.
People, do yourself a favor, do your research on the Internet, buy online.
I find it fascinating that stores can behave like this in 2020. If the store manager or owner reads this, I hope your 5 year plan is good, because the younger generation don't give a c**p that you have things sitting on a shelf. They will and already are, buying online.
The total lack of interest in trying to help someone by your employees has lost you a customer. Oh, and I have 2 young boys who are just getting interested in all things RC. Guess where I WONT be...
Read moreI love this store. I am an over the road truck driver. I stop here whenever I can. The main draw for me is the 1/72 ancient miniatures. PH has great prices. I always find what I am looking for. Whenever i pick up some stuff i always see more i want. It's so frustrating. PH also has the biggest range of hobby supplies available. They sell giant sheets of plasticard for great prices. I cannot find that size anywhere else (other stores sell the smaller 14" by 6" sheets). The staff are really friendly and range from sardonic model painters to nice mom types. PH has tons of scale model kits in the 1:35 & 1:72. The model train selection is extensive. I really don't know much about it but they do have HO stuff and smaller scales. The same goes for RC cars. From what i can tell RC is huge in southern California. I always see customers leaving with RC stuff. PH definitely has a wide range. Their boardgame selection is decent. It includes all the latest and greatest Ameritrash and Euro games. Unfortunately there are no historical wargames available (such as GmT, Avalon Hill, GDW, etc). That is the one bummer on the beach of beaches. I tell everyone about this store. I really do. I don't even get paid for it. Every model/hobbyist should come here once. Put it on your vacation list if you visit Southern California. Tell the wife if she gets to go to that fancy designer clothes store you get a stop at Pegasus Hobbies. If she objects remind her of that time at Macy's in Orlando. One tip for visiting... make sure you set aside money to spend. You will probably blow your budget otherwise. Highly...
