Edit: Dropping another star for the condescending response. You set the price for the recliner, not me. I didn't negotiate the price. I accepted it unconditionally on the tag. Don't talk down to me for trying to negotiate on the one point I didn't agree on, paying for delivery for a day too far out that's not convenient. Me asking to offset that inconvenience with a convenience with removal was a small ask. You could have offered $50 off the delivery and you would have made a sale. No loss to me. I'm not responding further to this. You had your chance at an easy sale and repaid it with an insulting $30 off removal that you wanted to charge for when I asked that as a counter to the $99. End of story end of review. Enjoy your one star.
Old: Getting two stars solely on the amount of selection they have, nothing else. This place is everything people warned me about. Old fashioned sales tactics, overpriced (when not on sale, sale prices are acceptable but not amazing).
First the sales guy is hovering and then finally decides to stop, whatever, he's trying to be available I guess. Come downstairs and he asks if I mind waiting 5 minutes, which turns into 15. Then the fun begins.
Delivery wouldn't be until sometime when it wasn't convenient or soon enough for me. Wasn't how long I was willing to wait especially when being charged a delivery fee simply because it wasn't a regular priced item.
I said about the date and price we'd need to work haul away deal in there then. His idea of working it in was tacking it on, which was $89 + $99 delivery. I said that's not going to work for me.
Comes back with an insulting $30 off. I said that's still more than I'm willing you pay, the hauaway is to offset the delivery fee, not increaae it. If you take the matching ottoman we've got a deal, otherwise I'm going to have to walk.
He comes back and says we can combine the haulaway for both items for $99. So $99 + $99.
I said thats not going to work and I have to walk. Thanks and have a good day. Then this joker wanted to give me his card on the way out. I gave him a puzzled look and said no need, we weren't able to do business today so there's no reason to come back.
Being stingy on delivery for $1000 piece of furniture, especially when everything in there is overpriced when not on sale anyway just says they aren't interested in business. Fine by me. I'll go elsewhere, virtually ANY and EVERY store does free delivery. Not my loss, if not bringing the delivery down to a reasonable $50 or taking the items for the $99 is worth losing $1000, then business apparently isn't needed.
TLDR: Save your time and money and shop elsewhere. Unless there is some unheard of sale going on here, everything is overpriced and they'll nickle...
Read moreAs Chester County residents since 1982, we have often looked first to Moore's Furniture for that fine quality piece to add to our home's interior. This weekend, we visited Moore's in search of a replacement chair for one that we bought at Moore's in 1999. Do the math.....while it is "showing its age", this chair has far outlasted the inferior pieces so abundant at the cookie-cut chains in the area. And our trip to Moore's this weekend was not in vain as we once again were able to come away with yet another quality addition to our home. But there is that intangible found at Moore's that is so easily overlooked and so sorely lacking at the brick-and-mortar stores bombarding us with loud, flashy ads for their merchandise whose quality is often suspect. Once you get both feet in their store, you are immediately pounced upon by some high pressure salesperson whose last sale was probably that of a used car. Missing is the old fashioned personal touch afforded by the tried and true "neighborhood merchant" such as Moore's. Shout out and thanks to Bob Roberts who offered his assistance, patience and thorough knowledge of his product. We left Moore's with the comfortable assurance that we had once again purchased a quality piece of furniture from a reputable LOCAL vendor and from a gentleman who valued us as a customer. Save yourself some time and energy......visit the folks at Moore's Furniture and enjoy...
Read moreMoores is a shining example of a long standing family owned hometown business with genuine, helpful and caring staff. From the moment you enter the establishment the warm and cozy atmosphere (including fresh baked cookies) makes it an easy place to shop for whatever type of furniture you may be looking for. I had no idea how large the showrooms were as the building is deceptively large with three entire floors packed with high quality furniture with many of the pieces being fully customizable from material colors, cushion firmness, wood finishes and even different style legs and hardware options. No matter what your budget there are options that will suit your needs. There is no need to drive a long distance to find what you are looking for, with a Chester Springs and Limerick location your new furniture is right in your backyard. I purchased a bar table for my outdoor patio and throughout the entire process I felt as though I was part of the family. Speaking with many of the employees I learned that many have been there for decades. In this day of age where job hopping is the norm it says something about a business when you have loyal happy employees that are glad to come to work and enjoy what they do, it makes the buying experience that much more authentic. I would give Moores 6 stars! Highly recommend that you start and end you shopping...
