Traffic jams car audio — Local services in Utica

I worked with Kyle, Dion and Chuck at Civic Audio in Utica on a complete installation of a new head unit, door and pillar speakers, amps and subwoofers in my 2012 Tahoe. They took me from a stock GM (non-Bose) system to something that sounds absolutely amazing regardless of genre of music I'm listening to. I'm extremely happy with the outcome of this project.

I'll admit that I'm not very knowledgeable about car audio and I was a little worried about the process of upgrading and installation. These guys immediately made me feel comfortable with the process. Not once did I feel like they were putting their interest in profit over my interests. They also didn't treat me like the car audio amateur that I am. They listened, asked questions and gave the time to explain things. They were very humble in that regard.

This is a family-owned operation and they obviously understand how to keep people coming back through honesty, good communication and quality workmanship. I definitely appreciate this and feel like it's a dying art.

Great shop and a bunch of stand-up dudes operating the place! I will be back for sure. Next project is to make my living room sound like my Tahoe... just working on convincing my wife that it's the right...

Big shot out to civic audio and their amazing install skills. What I paid is irrelevant, but was in the thousands. Had to pull the install apart today to find silly issues and handy craftwork due to speakers going in and out. Less than quality materials were used and industry standard practices were definitely not evident, from trying to fix broken panels with silicone to using drywall screws to mount speakers, taping wires to whatever they can find to attach them to and completely removing factory sound deadener because it is just easier to throw out. What a show! If I knew beforehand this was the quality craftsmanship I was to receive, I would have walked. Btw, this was an appointment and not a walk In. Should be ashamed to call yourselves professionals. Went back for the initial issue and Kyle, the owner told me it was my fault water got into the door and caused issues with tweeters. Come to find out the window trim wasn’t reinstalled properly with their amazing installation and he did me a favor by not charging me for...
