The owner is the sweetest, but I just don’t recommend them if you are looking for very detailed work. After much collaboration and $900 my wedding dress fit me poorly. The sleeves I had altered but ended up having to use double sided tape. They wouldn’t have been usable if I didn’t have tape on me. Also ALL of my wedding photos have this buckling at my back which they said there was nothing they could do. Come to find out this could have been fixed I just don’t think they’re experienced enough.

EDIT: Yes, the buckling at the back of my dress was discussed, but I was told at the time nothing could really be done except maybe adding a stitch to keep the layers together. This wouldn't have been a fix to make sure it laid properly, however, it was more of a bandaid. We never discussed adding panels or adjusting the torso, or making it a corset ? - I would have chosen some option to fix it, but the general air at the time was that nothing could be done about it. I know this because I still have the text messages of when I looked into other seamstresses to have this one issue addressed (who did say they could fix it), but I didn't have enough time to take the dress in before my wedding. I also don't know what losing weight has to do with the buckling issue, but I digress. I appreciate the work, but overall the alterations fell short for me personally so I wanted to share my...

I just picked up my wedding dress after alterations and while I can’t post pictures yet just had to stop and compliment these ladies so whole heartedly. I’d never gotten something altered but they were so accommodating to all kinds of questions and what I wanted out of the dress. Then they executed it perfectly- I had no feed back for them once on. I fell in love with the dress twice- when I found it and when I tried it on after alterations. There’s few things as pleasing or comfortable as being you and they have helped me be both on my big day. They were also very accommodating about how I wanted my bustle to look and work. They also made me a video showing exactly where the loops and hooks were and how to find them. It’s going to be invaluable day of when I have seen this be such a major pain point for brides on the big day. The video was also done with such a high level of clarity and detail it was almost the most impressive thing and I have full confidence that this dress will be a breath of fresh spring air...

I cannot recommend The Sewing Room enough! During a busy wedding season, with friends’ weddings as well as my own, they took care of every dress flawlessly.

From start to finish, their professionalism and expertise were unmatched. They were precise with every piece, offered incredibly valuable input on every detail, and explained each step of the alteration process thoroughly.

The quality of their work on my wedding dress (and my mom’s) was absolutely spectacular — every detail was perfect, and they made my dress feel even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Their confidence and skill made me feel completely at ease, knowing the result would be exceptional.

Beyond their technical talent, their kindness, patience, and genuine care made the entire experience completely stress-free and enjoyable. If you want precision, expertise, and a team that treats your dress as if it were their own, The Sewing Room is the place to go! I’m still...

I found The Sewing Room because I have to research everything I spend my money on & The Sewing Room had so many 5 star reviews!! From the moment I called to book my appointment, the staff was incredibly kind, professional & when I arrived, the owner (gorgeous woman, I feel bad I dont know her name!) was hands on the entire time ensuring my vision was executed! She even offered to steam my veil & replaced the hooks on my dress to be more sturdy. You can tell she treats her team members well & she is passionate about what she does. Her decades of experience shine through in her work & I would highly recommend this establishment for your alterations! In case anyone is curious about pricing, I had my dress taken in on the sides, had the dress taken up in length & had 1 bustle added & it was $450. Worth every penny!!
