Vermilion Boat Launch — Local services in Vermilion

I used the kayak/canoe ramp to launch my kayak.

The kayak launch site is to the right of the boat launch ramp (when you face the river), and there are space to park about 7-8 cars right near the kayak launch site. Or you can park your car at the main parking lot.

You need to first pay $3 at the office before launching your boat. The office is located between the upper and lower level, right across the launch ramp for bigger boats. You will need to pay cash and put them in an envelope and then deposit into a window on your right. You also need to write down your license number, makers, and color of your car.

Someone in the office came out and put a receipt on my windshield while I was kayaking.

The kayak launch site is new, and offer a rolling launch. Very each to get in and out of the river.

The trip was fun. You can kayak upstream for about 3 miles, pass under the bridge for Route 2 for another 4-500 yards until you see a gorge cliff on your right and a rapid in front of you.

I also paddled downstream for about 1 mile to see the breakwall on the lake.

Saw many big boats along the way near the river mouth.

I just go here to fish with the family. Great little spot to teach the young ones how to fish and the fish actually bites there to. Everytime I fish there, I always catch something that is strange such as a hellbender, aka mud puppy, big soft shell turtle, huge catfish. You never know...
